I tend to go over for about a week a year on business (I stay longer when taking a holiday there), and still feel I haven’t cracked it... Like you, I agree that clearly the NRL is overall a higher standard, but there are plenty of excellent England players in SL. We have a very large pool of full time professional players. When we combine that with having access to some NRL players, being at home, and having our crowds behind us we can be very competitive. Fwiw, if for some reason there was a combined SL/NRL league I think SL clubs would take up 12 of the bottom 15 places for a couple of years, but would then adapt. Go to a a Titans game…….it will help you sleep and they play like they are in a different time zone than the opposition

Aways head to a Roosters game but its not been the same at the SCG - roll on the new stadium. Thanks - there’s just no magic pie to dodge jetlag. I try to stay in Paddington, so I can stroll over to any meetings at NRL HQ, and see anything at the SFS. I love all the grounds there, though I found the Olympic stadium too big. I would love to go to Campbeltown one of these days. It will be interesting to see whether the new stadium is as good as Suncorp. We’ll know soon enough. I`ll tell you what, if you go to Campbelltown looking for a new stadium you`re in for a rude shock. Might be better off going to Parramatta. p.s. that`s if you can squeeze it in between any meetings at NRL HQ. He was doing very well in NSW Cup and with a few departures for the Raiders next year I was expecting him to get a few NRL games. Be interesting to see where he lands in the UK as I think he will be a good pick up. You would expect him to have a deal already lined up. I'm not suggesting the Raiders showed him the door but it does feel like their recruitment/retention is a bit all over the place at the moment, when you consider some of the other moves happening in the off season. Hoping Harry can come back to SL and kick on, he has all the attributes to become a great player.

Dunbar
So with Rushton coming back and Pearce-Paul and Pryce not going till 2024 it doesn't look like that talent drain to the NRL is materialising too quickly. I was being ironic. Knowles is 25 and has played one test against France. I'm not sure where everyone is getting this world class assertion from? He hasn't really played against any of the World's top teams or countries. He looks a brilliant prospect but is untested like his rivals. He looks a brilliant prospect but is untested like his rivals. Absolutely accurate. There's an old guy on here always talking about Tommy 'Makemson' (I know) being "world class". The guy has played 5 games for England, all against France or New Zealand. He has only played twice against NRL teams in his life: lost them both, and one was a 40 point hiding off Souths. The rest of his career has been spent running rings round the likes of Hull KR and Huddersfield - players who wouldn't even be professionals in Australia. Yet despite somehow you get people who think this is enough to make the guy "world class".

To be fair haven't England played about 3 times in 4 years - and they were just against a SL all stars and then France. Just going off who our best players are - probably our world class players at the moment would be Knowles, Makinson & Walmsley- Roby if he plays and then just behind Tomkins and Bateman.
