Soul Limbo. God knows who came up with the idea that a funky R&B instrumental would be ideal for Cricket, but it works.

Inspiration for the Cowbell Army....🤔

Can’t have an instrumental thread without this beauty. Produced by legendary mentalist Joe Meek.

And featuring bassist Heinz who died at the age of 57.

Liquidator is an instrumental.

Didn't question that. But if you think "R. Dean Taylor - There's A Ghost In My House",  is then I think you need to see an ENT quack!

Think it’s a dodgy link as I can now see Desmond Dekker!

And I know that one was a bit obvious, but this is my fave ever instrumental. I went to see a ballet of Dracula just after my wife had cancer. The two leads were involved whilst it was playing. We never held hands as tight as we did that night. It's worth a listen if you're in love with someone. I introduced it to a friend & his missus (in their 50s), and they said they'd never felt so in love when playing this together. 🙂

There. That's me done with being open & admitting to being romantic. I'm off back to Facebook to post pictures of cats pulling faces.

Following the exampple of "Best Song", how about a best instrumental? I'll kick it off with what I have always thought was a very catchy little ditty!

Pick up the pieces- Average White Band

Doesn't that have a short line of vocals in it?

Yeah someone shouts ‘pick up the pieces’ but it’s still pretty much an instrumental I’d say.

Must give an honourable mention to a pub band from Bradford, who comprised larger gentlemen and were known as Above Average Weight Band. 👌🏻

They should have toured with Mammoth - ex-Ian Gillan Band bassist John McCoy (19 stone), Vinnie Reed (22 stone), Mac Baker (23 stone), and Nicky Moore (20 stone).
