Whatever.

If England had a big overseas tour or an Ashes series to play, Grace would have been in their squad.

You wouldn't.

As it was, they had one game a year against "the All Stars" so he jogged off to union.

Not really- Grace wasn't picked for GB tour in 2019.

He was fit as he played in the 9s WC in Oz which was the week before the series started.

I was about to complain about the commentary team, Wilkin as obtuse as ever, Jonathan Davies being negative constantly, Noble ‘reminding the viewers at home’. But then I realised, I get frustrated with the commentary whoever is doing it. BBC, Sky, whoever

I could give it a crack, I might not mind myself!

For those watching on broadcast in UK, there appears to be no crowd noise unless there is a break/try. It’s as if it’s a morgue otherwise. Is it sounding the same on UK broadcast?

We’re just glad there’s any noise at all, after that silent movie of an opening ceremony.

It's fairly typical for an England crowd TBH. They play so infrequently that there's no real build up of the kind of instinctive support you get for the clubs (or other England national teams).

So, yes, it's the same sound on UK TV.

Maybe St James' Park are used to a rather more sweary bunch of fans. The ambient mic feed is very muffled. On the radio commentary, it's a clearer sound, but the volume's turned down even lower.

Still 100x louder than 80k in Twickenham for a England RU game - awfull atmosphere- for every game as well.

Thanks for the explanation. Surprises me, because the crowds in UL are almost always lively. A crowd of 5k usually puts an Aussie crowd of 40k to shame 😂

Tyrone May still down, and now he's being loaded onto the stretcher. Looks painful.
