Average attendance for the league is higher with toulouse rather than Leigh. Proves that toulouse / French clubs raise average attendances rather than reduce them and are an asset to the comps But you are just looking at a straight swap between Leigh v Toulouse - That isn't the cause for attendances to increase between other teams that are playing, like I said. I have no idea what Toulouse's home average is this season compared to Leigh's last season, but I imagine Leigh's was higher, and if that is the case, perhaps there are a lot more factors that are in play then just "oh look, a French club in the league, this makes playing Newcastle more exciting, lets go watch, I wouldn't have watched that match last season" 1

I think 50k could be achievable. Clearly Wigan would take a lot, but I bet HKR would as well for a first ever grand final. If HKR make it I intend to go for the first time in a while just to see a new name on it. 1 Nottingham Outlaws Rugby League Harry Jepson Winners 2008 RLC Midlands Premier Champions 2006 & 2008 East Midlands Challenge Cup Winners 2005, 2006, 2007 & 2008 Rotterdam International 9's Cup Winners 2005 RLC North Midlands Champions 2003 & 2004

It can go either way tbh - see the Challenge Cup Final this year with Leigh and HKR. Lots of hype, both probably did bring a huge percentage of their fanbases and it was still sub 60k because ultimately these aren't massive sports clubs with huge followings or from particularly massive places. Passionate and vocal yes, but large? No. I suspect HKR would bring more to Manchester than they did to London, purely as costs would be lower. Whether that would be more than Wigan, who are both closer and have greater levels of support to draw on, I think is up for debate.
EggFace Posted October 7, 2023 Posted October 7, 2023 Looks a decent crowd but just wish the C4 camera's were on the otherside as it's packed.

Guest Posted October 7, 2023 Posted October 7, 2023 Feels like a compelling GF to me. Be interesting to see the excuses for why people won't go to it or the Tonga series.

People will go as normal. It'll be down on the average because Catalans won't bring as many due to travel reasons, costs etc. That's fair enough.

I have had the privilege on 2 occasions to sit next to officials when an attendance figure has been plucked out of the sky:) France v PNG RLWC 2000 Paris 7000+ Real 1800

What they choose to do in France is up to them. So why do you think SL want to declare an extra 17,000 tickets to the taxman and pay out money they haven’t actually received?
