Which song do you have stuck in your head?

Recommended Posts

Musical Box by Genesis from their ‘71 album Nursery Cryme, it’s been a long time favourite of mine from first hearing it on their Genesis Live album.

As an aside I remember buying the album from Lewis’s department store in Leeds about 50 years ago.

Today is Tender by Blur, and that all started cos I gave myself a pep talk when I started work and said, "come on! Come on! Come on! Let's do it!"

I played that song on my walkman as I walked into the first successful job interview I had. I hadn't meant it for it to my pep talk but it became that.

Build a man a fire, and he'll be warm for a day. Set a man on fire, and he'll be warm for the rest of his life. (Terry Pratchett)

See Karaoke thread above. Hollow Horse is always there, lurking at the back of the music bit of my head.

I have lots of earworms, but when Shane McGowan died I had "The Old Main Drag" in my head for weeks, along with "Rainy Night in Soho" that everyone else was playing.

After seeing Natalie Merchant live recently I had "King May" morning, noon and night in my head, which is a good thing.

"Sons and Daughters" by The Decemberists is a proper nuisance. I guarantee 100% that if you watch this video, you'll get an earworm that goes "Hear all the bombs, fade away....."

It all makes a nice change from The Wiggles and Teletubbies that get into your head when your kids are young. Apologies to young TRL parents if those things are still alive 😐

Just been to see Pete Wylie live and he closed the set with 'Story of the Blues', so I expect it'll be a while before that ear worm leaves my head.
You'll probably be stuck with it too, now that you've read this.
