It's a shame - but almost completely avoidable - to get Leeds-Saints and London-Wire playing each other twice in two weeks.

How would you avoid it?

This isn't a new problem.

You could thin out the SL clubs' involvement in the round of 16 and QF by having them enter a round earlier.

Avoidable was the wrong word to use on my part, I agree. I really meant that it is completely in our hands to design something that reduces the chances of having 12/16 SL clubs in the hat at this stage of the comp.

They are streaming a game, as per the previous rounds.

It's not great but it's also not completely ignoring it.

Is 'not completely ignoring it' the benchmark now?

I can confirm 30+ less sales for Scotland vs Italy at Workington, after this afternoons test purchase for the Tonga match, £7.50 is extremely reasonable, however a £2.50 'delivery' fee for a walk in purchase is beyond taking the mickey, good luck with that, it's cheaper on the telly.

My opinion is that it's all the current terrible set up for this round of the Challenge Cup deserves.

I'd forgotten they don't put a game on the main channels but it's hardly a disaster. They'd pick one of the all SL ties that will be played in front of half the usual crowd for an SL game.

When there was an open draw, it still happened frequently.

At Fev it might have been a cracker. At their place, can't see anything other than a shellacking.

Hi David, this week for Leigh is a trip to Hull FC on Saturday and with Leigh's injury situation I make Hull the favourites, the game against your lot is the following week and Leigh could well be starting that game with a played 0/4 record, losing is a bad habit to break they say, don't give up on your team just yet.

Only a week and a half to get all that done.

Clubs wait months for stocks of replica shirts.

But - sure - some of that can be done.

Leigh partnered Dewsbury company Ellgren as their kit manufacturer, a problem arose when the replica shirts were on very late delivery, the reason was all the Elgren employees involved with the manufacture were on holiday for a fortnight celebrating Eid al-fitr.

Sheffield’s straw was shorter than Fax’s tbf.

In what way? From a money prespective Sheffield should do quite well out of it shouldnt they. Wigan had to be one of the plum ties for a championship team.

Why would Fax lose money on the game? I get there wouldn't be many away fans but surely more locals than normal would turn out to see one of the top Superleague teams?

I doub't they will get a crowd big enough to cover costs. Are Catalans a team that are going to interest people? At the moment reading views of other fans on FB I would say not. Me personally as pretty much a die hard fan for the last 40 years I'm feeling pretty meh over it. I want to watch games with a good atmosphere and Catalans are a team I don't see any rivalry with so its just a game that I really don't "get". I would rather have played someone like Fev just so it has that big game feel.

Me too. I travel from London to a few Halifax home games every season, but I won't be for this. If it had been virtually any other team I'd have been there, but meh is a good description of how I feel too.

It's the first time Fax will have met Cats I believe, although we drew them in the CC a few years ago but the game was never played. Halifax got chucked out for fielding an illegible player in an earlier round, exactly the same offence Hull made the previous season, but who mysteriously avoided the same punishment.

As I pointed out last night on the Panthers Facebook group, there’s 2800 members of the group, if we all go and take a friend who’s never been before it’s a good start.

Lets hope the club market the bejasus out of it in the short time before the game

Wasn’t that supposed to be against Batley? I only know because I was on the M62 when it got pulled and ended up going to Crusaders v Catalans instead!

Is OurLeague still a thing?

It doesn't seem to have its own match streams section any more. But seeing as SL+ now exists, they wouldn't need to maintain their own streaming platform as well.

Would that mean that the matches that were streamed free on OuRLeague are now going to be behind the SL+ paywall?

We played them in the middle 8's back in 2017 in front of 1800 fans. I just don't have any affiliation with Catalans at all, I very rarely watch their SL games and have very little interest in them. If Fax lower the entry price again then I would probably go. If its full price I will probably swerve if theres any decent amateur games on.

I’m pretty much the opposite, they’re the SL team I follow albeit at a distance so I’ll definitely be there

I'm not the person to ask. I was just speculating, and there may be the facility to stream free matches on SL+. Patreon has the option for content creators to release free audio/video on a case by case basis, even if their main output is paywalled. People use it to post occasional free episodes they can link to on social media to build a following.
