Salford are doing a lot better than I thought they would before the season started and I think this one 'could' be a lot closer than some people are expecting it to be.

Hoping for a Wigan win but it's 50/50 for me at the moment.

I've got so much respect for what Rowley and Salford are doing and it won't be straightforward for Wigan tonight, not a chance IMO. It's been a great start for Wigan but the league games have been against sides you'd expect to be in the lower reaches of the league and we have been sloppy in defence and discipline in all of the league fixtures so far. If that continues, I could see the game becoming a real scrap but I am always confident that we've got enough strike to get out of problems.

I've learned my lesson about underestimating Salford! Saying that, I still think Wigan will win in a low-scoring, very-tight game! Winner will end the night top of the league tonight, which is credit to Salford's excellent start!

Fast start from the hosts. Wigan have been startled.

I always enjoy watching Salford, they are a really well coached team and move the ball quickly ar speed.

Same here, for a good few years they have been the best team to watch on their day.

Voluntary tackle 4. A player in possession shall not deliberately and unnecessarily allow themselves to be tackled by voluntarily falling to the ground when not held by an opponent. If a player drops on a loose ball they shall not remain on the ground waiting to be tackled if they have time to regain his feet and continue play.‘

Yep. It’s still in the rules.

There is strong case to be made that he was anticipating the tackle though, so stayed down to minimise the impact.

Not checked but isn't there a note that says something about the ref calling play on.
