Even if the ref does not give it, it would be sent up as a try and replay did suggest that there was a good chance he got it down so it would have been given.

Exactly this. I'm not sure it was a try but I don't think anyone can say it definitely was or wasn't a try so whatever the ref's instincts is going to be backed up by the video ref therefore ref may as well cut to the chase and give it. Well done Liam Moore for not wasting our time.

I think you might be misunderstanding the meaning of the word "television", the zoom capability of video camera lenses, the use of multiple camera etc. the ref has only two eyes, and they are both quite close together.
