I am, but I really hope they just don't announce the twelve who are in, they should make an event out of it.  I reckon a Eurovision results format would work well. We could open with a table based on the league positions. Then the points for each sub section of the categories could be announced individually with the clubs moving up or down the table accordingly. See if Graham Norton's available for commentary.

Anything else would be a missed opportunity.

Any extra points if you have a bike shed at the ground?

In any modern stadium you are required to have "green" travel capabilities e.g. charger points and bike sheds, but whether or not it's stated in IMG, I very much doubt.

Lots of 'declining to comment' and lack of communication going on by the RFL, RL Comm and IMG which I find really incredible if not two faced, when everything they are doing is measurable and accountable all except for what they are doing themselves!

It is measurable, the pot needs to grow, if it doesn't then they have failed.

Been a bit too much good feeling around the grand final so I was wondering what angle bad news John would find.

You might all be excited about a new up and coming finalist and a near sell out for the first time in ages but here's John with a hodgepodge of complaints from his Patreon. They may well be valid but come on, it's the eve of the games biggest night of the year!

I'm not asking for a cheerleader but we have enough detractors in the national press, we don't need to be doing their work for them with what little platform we have.

I was born to run a club like this. Number 1, I do not spook easily, and those who think I do, are wasting their time, with their surprise attacks.

So how much was in the 'pot' and when was it noted 'that this is day one' to see how much the pot has grown, and what exactly is being measured to see whether it has grown or otherwise.

I guess we will never know but we should do, weren't we told at the introduction of this process that at the end of 12 years IMG will be awarded a % of the profits that their methods has delivered?

Maybe you don't like the timing of the article Keith, but you don't say whether you agree with the content or not or does your initial comment 'what angle bad news would John find' agree with him?

It's an absolutely bizarrely positioned article.

Zero new in it and zip all to do with the GF.

And when you read stuff like this it is just clear that some journalists just have an agenda and look to twist anything into a hatchet piece.

We have just had some great games, fantastic play off crowds, record play off viewing figures and look set to have the best attended Grand Final for years. Why not write about that the day before the Grand Final? Yet all that is just ignored to have a dig at IMG.

Friends like this eh!

This is the IMG thread isn't it? Where else do you suggest the article should be placed ?

And only one poster has mentioned the GF.

I don't think he was talking about the position of the article on this forum Harry 😉

No new news in the article at all.. it's all been said on here and I think most of us would agree it is very very quiet from them, but that doesn't mean they aren't doing anything...

Sadly that quiet does lead to a void that gets filled with some terrible prices of "journalism".. same questions asked over and over but not of the people who could answer...just posed to the ether .

And bits like "up in arms" outside of this forum I haven't met a single person who cares that much about the payment, they may wonder what it was for, wish we kept the money in the game or think "as long as it works" it's a small price, but it's "soft" feeling... they certainly aren't "up in arms"

Excellent Owen Slot article in todays's Times. Starts off with the latest  Rob Burrow podcast, moves on to the former Harry Sunderland Trophy and the fact that all previous winners will be credited on the new trophy, even mentions Mikey Lewis.

Here's one bit:

Meanwhile, even out of the tragedy of his death, Burrow and his sport and Wigan versus Hull KR are representative of something so very different. They are a story of the community that sport can generate, of how rugby league can bring people together, of great but everyday human beings and how they respect history and the greats of its past. And they can even present a man-of-the-match award that is named after one of their own rather than one of their sponsors.

Yes, Burrow is gone. But over and out? Not at all.

Yes that's true.. I meant more press releases from them etc.. but I wouldn't expect them to be shouting things from the tree tops if there isn't anything to shout especially when there is some actual stuff going on like a GF and End of season internationals etc.

I've seen a few people make comments this season about how great the promotion/advertising has been this year but I haven't seen anything different, so I don't agree but I do wonder how many people do agree.

IMG have refused to do interviews RP, they just direct people to the RL/RL Comm, if you have read on this site @Martyn Sadlerhas given them an invitation to appear on the TRL Podcast to which they declined, the question is why? you would think they should be au fait with their own product, but they don't allow anyone to find out if they really are.

As per my other post, it is not just now at GF week they have been invited, but don't let that get in the way of defending them.

It's not up to IMG, the main "Re-imagining Rugby League" consultants. It's up to the sports governing body.  In any case, why would they expose themselves to "have you stopped beating your wife"- style questions from a claque of professional northerners determined to oppose and find fault with everything except "faux fur ", especially as the whole plan has been laid out in plain sight for everyone to see?

Let 'em get on wi' t' job.
