Purposefully it would seem, like an illusion by a top magician let the audience see what they think, the word Broncos never mentioned after the word London, that is the illusion.

The view they present on London in the last interview is not a controversial view (as in, plenty believe it's the best approach). It's how they did it with Melbourne in the NRL, and expansion clubs in other sports often have additional support centrally. It's been presented on these boards for years too.

So maybe, they aren't stupid and whilst acknowledging that London is important, they also acknowledge that London Broncos were a bit of a car crash and were ranked accordingly, behind many other Champ clubs.

People are trying to find something in these comments that just aren't there. They don't need to hoodwink people, they can present their vision and it's up to the game whether we adopt it. But they haven't said anything controversial about London at all.

The capacity has been reduced on the advice of the LSV Safety Advisory Group. There are scenarios where closing a stand will result in a reduced capacity for the purposes of the utlisation score, Wakefield's closed stand last year being the most obvious. Whether using the space for the matchday experience counts is another matter entirely, but regardless,  I would expect Leigh's utilisation score to have increased slightly this year, with 2021 attendances dropping off.

Yes, in my stuff I used the 10.3k figure that they have had for Wigan the last two years as capacity. I got 59% utility, but I think Leigh have 54% in their numbers which could be the difference between sold vs actuals.

It is grammatically impossible to read that section and believe they are talking about a club rather than a place.

But they haven't really said anything useful about London at all.

They started with some aspirational stuff. Now they've added a fairly obvious point about a club there needing a long-term plan and lots of £££ to succeed.

They've said zero - unless anyone has the evidence, and I hope they have - about what they plan for London. As someone in or around that space, I've been looking for any crumb at all. There are none it seems: London, the club, the region, whatever is currently in the 'too difficult' bin.

I think we go back to Harry's point about perspectives. One set of people read these articles on IMG and see positive developments and plans stated by credible figures; another set of people see aspirations, and they don't (yet) have any faith in the people.

It is a fairly obvious point. So obvious that you wonder why they made it.

My conclusion is that the RFL told IMG that London (and France, and women) were areas of strategic priority for them and IMG believed them.

It's not IMG's job to develop rugby league anywhere.

As ever, and I know you have no problem blaming the RFL but this is 100% on them.

I think its fair to be impatient and want to know exactly what they are going to recommend and when, but it doesn't look like we are at that stage yet.

It's important to remember that the sport isn't on hold while we await recommendations, work continues as it always has.

Things will be prioritised.

Are you not confident that IMG will have a plan to wake up this supposedly sleeping giant?

There words not mine kind of what I was suggesting about 3 pages back too little too late that ship has sailed with Hughes at the helm.

Correct all smoke and mirrors, may aswell have said the game needs more money, more fans, and some teams and some good players. Its obvious to any fan, they’ve put measures in place for grading but basically said London is important without any hint of how/what/why/when.

Then to make matter worse when Hughes has announced he’s off all of a sudden they’ve release a statement saying what should have happened. Doesn’t fill me with confidence that have much of a plan at all.

Further development for Trinity. South east corner to be made into new 200 capacity sports bar and hospitality. Will also have a terrace.

Owner clearly looking to increase revenue. Looking at the upgrades he’s done so far it should be high quality.

He seems to be an owner doing all the right things for all the right reasons. I've not really seen much about him, is he a fan of the club from before he got involved, a local lad done well etc? Does he fancy having a second club in the lake district (west).....

Yes he is local. He is a commited fan having been a supporter since Trinity played Saints at Oakwell 20 odd years ago. He is part of a very successful family whose business deals with Kitchens. Not sure on his worth but it is significant even moreso with his parents backing him.

There's the owner's key without which, the door to success will not open. Wakefield seems to have such a guy.

1. You must be a committed believer.

2.You must be a leader by your actions.

Beaumont fits both of those (not by his public persona - that's an embarrassment) but behind the scenes and in the ginnells of power, where it matters.

I think thats the big thing with Beaumont. His public persona often gets mixed up with what he is like behind the scenes. I dont know what he is like at actually running the club but there isnt a lot of negativity coming out of it or moaning from ex employees etc so you have to assume he does a pretty good job and while his public persona is not to everyone's tastes (certainly not mine) his professional ability can be different and the success he is having would suggest it is. Hes done a great job in growing Leigh for sure.

From what I know the players and staff love Derek, he’s well known to be brilliant with the families and kids of players and very generous to everyone from sponsors to most of the local amateur clubs and he’s really supports the women’s player experience, I do wish at times he’d get less involved with fans on social media but I suppose that’s the Rugby League fan in him and I don’t think he will change now.

Matt Ellis seems great for Wakefield and doing the business, hopefully he won’t get screwed over by the some of the other clubs like what happened to Derek and Leigh in 2021 as I’m sure he’s still bitter about that listening to recent interviews.

The amount of strides made on and off the field at Trinity have been huge. It’s a different club altogether from 12 months ago.

The away fans that stand in the west probably have the least benefit as this stand other than a gantry, tidy up, Banner and new food options hasn’t had much investment. The east, south and in off season southeast corner though have been transformed in and outside along with operations and staff. can’t do everything in a year though.

The west stand there are some ideas and plans to redevelop but I think this will be done in 2025 off season. Probably when he knows what the demand is and what is needed there to bring in revenue and payback.

Matt Ellis has been a complete godsend to Wakefield Trinity. An owner whose obviously committed to doing it right or not doing it at all!

Let’s not overlook that Wakefield have this week, installed the video advertising boards around the TV arc and have built a substantial new TV gantry. Earlier this year they ripped out the interior fitting of THE NEW Stand and replaced it all with much higher spec fitout. They did the same with the Home & Away subs benches, Trinity also installed new rehab and recovery equipment for the players, the sort of stuff you’d find at Manchester City! While they were at it they removed the cheap but new large video screen and replaced it with a newer and larger expensive one!

The whole of the hospitality block has been refitted and now looks like something from a Premier League club (inside I mean). There’s a purpose built Players Lounge where the 2 full time chefs prepare the players meals.

I am no doubt missing loads of stuff but the point is Wakefield Trinity under Matt Ellis are the genuine article and with more new built stands promised it really is dreamland for Trinity fans and the awakening of the 50s & 60s Giant

Are there any images anywhere of the improvements Omega?

I don’t know how to paste images but if you’re really interested the clubs website is littered with interior photos of hospitality etc. I’m not sure you’ll find any pictures of the rehab stuff but I’ve been there and seen it first hand and it’s impressive.
