Rumours like that and the Matty Russel one are just put out there by rival fans to upset us. This world was never meant for one as beautiful as me. Very good running game from dummy half, will be a very exciting player off the bench. Could also become a starter with Houghton getting older. Was also with the Dolphins in pre season, didn’t end up joining them though. Thanks for that. I don't believe I've ever seen him play but that sounds very encouraging. Houghton will retire this season, so the hooking will likely be shared between Rimbu and Bourouh. 1

Already scored 7 tries this year in Q Cup, I watched him play against Toowoomba on the weekend and he had a great game. Played a few games for PNG last year, had the bench hooker spot over Liam Horne for a game. Could be playing for PNG in October again, we’ll see. Definitely the next Edwin Ipape even though he is only a few years younger. Edited June 10, 2024 by NRLandSL 1
phiggins Posted June 11, 2024 Posted June 11, 2024 Aaron Bower reporting that Leigh have signed David Armstrong for next season. Not one I saw coming after he got a chance in Newcastle's first team this year. 1

I think he is better than the last couple FB's to come over in Dufty & Miller
binosh Posted June 11, 2024 Posted June 11, 2024 If the signing of Armstrong does come off then that is some coup for Leigh and Super League, only 23 years old with multiple NRL offers on the table, lightning fast and tipped by Billy Slater as a future SOO FB. Would give Leigh that bit of X Factor that’s been missing.
NRLandSL Posted June 11, 2024 Posted June 11, 2024 Very good signing Armstrong, going to bring that pace and excitement O’Brien lacks. Armstrong, Moylan, Lam and Ipape is a top tier spine.

French and Croft had Smith and Sneyd alongside them when they won man of steel, Lam and Moylan are almost vying for the same spot if Armstrong comes in.

Lam certainly isn’t an elite kicker but there’s definitely worse. Only a handful of kickers like Sneyd around .

Thunder Road Posted June 11, 2024 Posted June 11, 2024 Leigh Leopards have secured the signing of David Armstrong for the 2025 season after he sensationally decided against a new deal to remain in the NRL with Newcastle Knights. 1
jacksy Posted June 11, 2024 Posted June 11, 2024 FC have kicked Stewart into touch. Rugby Union the only game in the world were the spectators handle the ball more than the players.

We've been hunting a speedster to be our bevan French/Jai Field for a while now, lack of express pace has been our biggest deficiency. Also gives us some height to target kicks to which we've missed since Blake Ferguson and Nene Macdonald left.

You are using the wrong description saying elite, kicker and Lam in the same sentence, let me tell you from someone who has watched virtually every game he has played for Leigh, he is a terrible field kicker, if he can learn to find ground and space once every 20/25 kicks that will be a great improvement.

Really look forward to him coming over and wearing the Leopard garb, irrespective of the game he played for Newcastle last week on TV he had a nightmare, but apparently to the commentary that was his worst performance all season since deputising for Kaylin Ponga. binosh Posted June 13, 2024 Posted June 13, 2024 Can’t see Martin leaving Leeds, feels like his agent is doing a job in the press to get him a better offer from the Rhinos.
