I mean, he's signed from an NRL club, having played NRL games after being promoted into their top 30 man squad. So I think it's fair to describe it as an NRL signing. If I'm being ultra petty then it's a Super League (hopefully!) signing from NRL.

Odd thing to be hung up about though.

Yep, and one Newcastle really wanted to keep. He had agreed to a 2 year extension with them before changing his mind and media reports in Oz were claiming at least 1 other club was chasing his signature in the NRL so labelling him as a NSW cup signing doesn't tell the full picture. He's very much in the midst of a breakout season over there getting a lot of plaudits in the media and it's a huge coup to be able to get him over on a 3 year deal.

Not hung up.  I was just describing his situation at the Knights.

As I have stated already (a couple of times), I think he is a good player who I hope and expect will be a very good signing.

Denive Balmforth signs a year contract.  Great to see Hull giving the youngsters a shot.  Looks like the Rimbu deal has been withdrawn by one party or the other.

1 year seems short for someone of his age and promise

Armstrong is a cracking signing for SL.

That kid has searing pace and knows how to position himself in support.

He must be going to get a lot of money from Mr Beaumont.

I’m taking the 3 year deal with a pinch of salt to be honest. Fully expect there to be an NRL clause in there, just hope that if it is, that it doesn’t activate until 2 of the 3 years have passed

Yes I’m sure there will be a clause in there, hopefully it should provide some financial compensation if he does go early

I agree, I'd have tied him down longer, but I know there have been question marks about his fitness and about some aspects of his game so I suppose 1 year keeps him on his toes a bit. If he keeps working hard and playing the way he has recently then he will get an extention no problem. Apparently it was Cartwright that forced the clubs hand and said I want him here next season, so that bodes well.

No more so than John Asiata surely MZH, and at 31 he has been given a 3 year contract, Ritchie's first signing if I am correct and in my opinion quite a gamble for such a length and value of contract, but if it pays off you have the best LF in the country.

Fitness as in he needs to get up to speed to play at the pace of SL. Not injuries.

I don't disagree about Asiata though. A gamble. Probably one worth taking, but a gamble nonetheless.

It does but he has been messed about with Grix repeating Smiths opinion that he needs to do more.  I believe Cartwright has taken a look at him and given the ok.

That is a very good signing.  A 25 year old who has played 150 NRL games and also NSW and the Kangaroos.

A very dangerous ball runner.  I can see him being a huge success for Catalans.

Partington to Catalans confirmed. Are they signing him as a prop, or a 13? If the latter, am guessing that means reduced minutes for Garcia?

Garcia replacement for Asiata?

Hard working player. Salford will miss him

Wakey have signed a good un in Ollie, lovely lad and a cracking player.

Should be hitting his best years too over next few seasons. I’m happy with that signing.

Next seasons squad shaping up very nicely.

Yep, though I’m guessing the fact you already have Shorrocks softens the blow a little?

That would be nice, though he is under contract for another two years I think, so Catalans will have to be willing or wanting to let him go, as well as the player himself having to agree. So it seems unlikely
