3PM kick off would also help as the SLGF is plagued by drunks every year

A 3pm kick off still leaves plenty of time to get drunk if you feel the need.

It is but it will still have an effect on some ..

I agree with Atlantis Man.....unlike the CC final the GF is definitely not a place to bring kids to

The two new stands at Anfield have the leg space you are looking for. They're vastly improved.

Ta - I am technically a Liverpool fan, but my experiences there have put me off going to games.  If i get a chance to go in the new bits I'll have one last go

As for Old Trafford, if I'm not in a box I'm not going - getting too old to get crammed into my seat

That is what I hate about big games . I dont drink before a game . Hate having to stand up and let them go to relieve themselves every few minutes and then doing that silly Mexican wave instead of watching the game . I love a few beers after a game . I dont think that will change much ,but 3pm KO would help

Experience of Challenge Cup finals is that the kick off time doesn't make much difference in that regard.

I hadn't seen this comment before.

Do you find it noticeably different?

My Challenge Cup final experience is that there is usually plenty of drinking going on and, whilst not anti-social, is definitely of the kind where folk are getting up to go to the bar/go for a slash all match long.

It's been mostly event free for us at CC finals bar bar a couple of unpleasant experiences at....e.g. someone took my mates newly poured pint when he went to the loo and there was a 'discussion' in the Box park bit ...

Every time I go to the GF I feel it's edgy...never been attacked or anything but seen quite a few scuffles before and after games and it feels people get a lot more drunk though with the warm 3.5% Carslberg bottles not sure how they get drunk

Yeah, you definitely see plenty as bad as you just have people up and travelling early and as such starting on the drink much earlier.

ok - there has to be a flaw in this - it seems too simple and logical a suggestion

on the back of the "time to move the GF" thread

here goes

1- move the  GF to spurs

2- RFL - instead of selling GF  tickets sell GF  tickets including coach travel (without coach still available)

3 don't plan to make any money at all on the coach travel - just cover the costs

4 RL  fans make a jolly day out of it - fill the stadia with demand for the following years growing and growing

insane I KNOW  but simple

The insane bit is very well explained.

just thought if back street working mens clubs could do this once a year in the 70s and 80s then maybe the RFL  could do something similar in the modern age

But, what if Spurs say no?

What if 1200 coaches aren't available.

I can confirm 30+ less sales for Scotland vs Italy at Workington, after this afternoons test purchase for the Tonga match, £7.50 is extremely reasonable, however a £2.50 'delivery' fee for a walk in purchase is beyond taking the mickey, good luck with that, it's cheaper on the telly.

a lot of companies do breaks that are fri to sun for eg - they could make use of their assets inbetween instead of having them parked up

I think Dublin might work with this idea, the RFL should be able to hire some ferries on a good deal to transport all the coaches as October is outside of peak demand period.
