Remarkable even beat Salford/Saints attendance in SL today (5,700). I remember the days in the Championship 1996/97 when we were averaging about 1,500 how times have changed. Some positivity at least!!

That’s a pretty decent gate at Salford, too, tbf

Breaking 10,000 as a average attendance is huge for us.

I'll only be reading Hull KRs published attendances once every 3 years so I'll respond then.

Yeah, why not. Always worth gauging against local competition, and in Salford’s case it is more than Sale attracted to a few games this season and almost double Salford City’s average.

It’s great when away fans aren’t bringing hardly any either. 138 may have been Fax fans out of that. The Trinity fan base is growing which is nice to see.

Yeah, all ifs, buts and maybes, but on this trajectory, I'd suggest they will make the 7500 average attendance in the 2026 IMG grading scores.

I’m not sure if it’s over a 3 year average. If so you’d be looking at 202 scores.

Regardless, it makes the club much more competitive.

As an aside, how good is it to have regular SUNDAY rugby again. It’s like heaven.

So many young fans down at games that wouldn’t usually be there on the Friday night games.

I genuinely believe that a return to Sunday rugby league would be the best for the sport as a whole.

I understand the commercial reasons for Friday night games, but agree clubs and perhaps the sport as a whole needs to be much more strategic around scheduling. All clubs need a mix - some Sunday and Saturday afternoon games to enable younger families, some evening games to enable the corporate and "lads on the night out" audiences, etc.

The NRL owns scheduling and spreads games out across Friday/Saturday/Sunday to cover the whole weekend (with occassional Thursday additions) which maintains overall interest in the sport across 4 days out of 7 and allows fans to consume more than one or two matches. No idea why RL Commercial can't do the same, rather than let individual clubs have too much of a say.

7.5k average 24/25/26 still a big ask though

There are several things to take into account to reach 7.5k (in my opinion)

1. Current capacity at BV won't allow a 7.5k average , although I would imagine this would be increased presuming you get into SL for 2024

2. Although a fantastic idea for this season , it would be financially unwise to offer '2 kids per adult ticket' in SL . This will mean a loss of ST sales

3. I would imagine a rough estimate of £100 extra per ST if in SL , which is also going to impact on ST sales . Also ticket prices for games (non ST) will also have to increase if in SL

4. With every game now live on TV , it seriously impacts on travelling support , and the increase in ticket prices above will mean that some supporters will choose to watch the matches on TV instead.

5. Sunday afternoon games are good for attendances , but the demands of TV mean that you won't be able to play as many homes games on a Sunday in SL . Playing on an evening will also impact travelling support , especially when games are live on TV

6. Although this season has seen excellent attendances you will still fall  behind 7.5k , and this will reflect in your 3 year average in the 2026 IMG gradings . A 6.5k average this season , would mean an 8k average in each of the 2025 and 2026 seasons would be required.

If you stay in SL , then 2027 IMG gradings may be a more attainable 7.5k three year average.

What is the current capacity of Belle Vue? Its not that long ago that they've had more than 7.5k and its bound to allow for more now.

Hi Damien , not sure , but I think the Bradford game was down as a sell out with 7,221 . I can't find the Toulouse attendance , but I think it was similar

On the basis that it was the same as Bradford game then Wakey current average will be a little under 6.4k , however they do have Fev to play yet which should be another sellout . If they were to sellout every game from now with 7,221 then that would equate to 6,885 average for the season .

They haven't had a home SL crowd bigger than 7,183 in the last 8 years . In 2015 they recorded an attendance of 9,766 v Saints .

The 7.221 (a great effort to be fair) is their highest home attendance since 2015

Hopefully a catalyst for getting those stands morr regularly filled

The other thing to note, not yet mentioned, is that Matt Ellis has plans for both the West and North Stand - closure of either will undoubtedly hit capacity over the next 3 years too.

He is also looking at the front of the flats as a standing area

I mean it's mightily impressive, but it looks awful to actually watch a game of Rugby at.

I know people like to criticise the UK grounds, but being close to the pitch is a far better experience as far as I'm concerned.
