As Stevo used to say, "What's in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet; So Romeo would, were he not Romeo call'd, Retain that dear perfection which he owes Without that title. Romeo, doff thy name, And for that name which is no part of thee Take all myself."

GB is a far cooler brand with a nicer kit than England has ever been. However it is a long gone concept...... I think what those old enough to remember Ashes test matches are really fond if is being competitive with Australia.

Also England need an iconic design for their jersey and to stick to it.... kangaroos kiwis and GB jerseys have a consistent look which gives the brand credibility.... England kits have been consistently terrible.....white with a red chevron or roark's drift red white hoops....something simple and classy and stick with it......ditch all the jazzy modern rubbish.

I might be there for a game in London with the old man. Would love it to be at Wembley.

I was taken by my old man as a nine year old to see Hull FC play the Kangaroos in 1948. Remember Clive Churchill playing in that match and seeing for the first time a fullback involved in passing movements and play making. Also a great last line tackler.

Wanted to go to matches in the Ashes series that year but dad couldn't get time off work. Would have seen GB win 3-0!

My family has had a strong link with Aus. since 1919 when an aunt went there to marry an Aussie soldier she met there while nursing in France in 1918 to be followed by another married aunt a couple of years later. Both aunts were on my mother's side and not to be outdone an uncle on my dad's side went to Aus. in the mid 50's taking his whole family of 5 in the days of the 10 quid POM!

Loads of family members to greet me when I arrived in Sydney by ship in 1968.

Do you mean Rorkes Drift red - a great description of the GB colour. Visited the battle site in 1967 when I was living in South Africa. The site depicted in the film Zulu was at a different location.

I mean something like the kit worn in this game.....slim red/white hoops

They should stick to a simple design like this....regardless of sponsors or kit manufacturers..... and have traditional unsponsored cotton long sleeve versions......like England Union do.

Would be a much better plan than changing to a navy chevron because the colour sells well and goes better with the betfred logo.

The England kit this year is actually really nice, but feels like we're slowly morphing towards the GB colours for England.

I prefer the current colours, England did play in red white and blue in the 90s prior to the 95 World cup

This is the best England kit, just needs the cross centered and lions removed.

Really? And England have never had a kit with the cross on it?

I found that image on Google just looking for anything with a cross on it and assumed that would have been available for sale at some point. Either way what I was getting at is that it represents what I'd love to see an England kit look like.

They wore it against Combined Nations in June 2021 and France in October 2021, before the redesign for the postponed world cup.

True. I suppose I just meant that it was a shirt that had a world cup badge on it that was never worn at a world cup.

The centred cross looks awful and just doesn't work.

An awful shirt full stop for me. I can't see the Australians ever wearing tripe like this. The GB shirt was an iconic design like the Kangaroos shirt. No need to keep making different ones.

Looks like going back to 1095 when the crusades started.

Fair play. If the single cross won't cut it, there's always this little number for the more intrepid...

That looks like some sort of Crusader under Richard the Lionheart reborn to play RL.

The 2017 World Cup one was the least egregious version I've seen done of that. The 2011 era paint stripe shirts, including a reverse colours "away" kit, was perhaps the best version with a cross on imo.

Not a bad start but it’s missing the St Andrew and St Patrick crosses and 6 stars 🤩
