Fantastic result for Donny. By far the club of the year for me

Thanks, very much appreciated. As I've said before we're happy just to be here and enjoying it. Tonight was very special though so really grateful for your kind words.

Great result for Donny and I hate to put a downer on this, but there looked to be less than 200 watching such a good game.

It's opened my eyes this year in the championship as to how low some of the crowds are and it is a miracle how the clubs keep going. Nevertheless Whitehaven have already stated they are finding it extremely difficult not to fold.

Attendance was given as 1121, which was exceptional considering what else was going on in the town that day (Rovers first home game of the season, huge pride music festival etc)

Having been in the land of milk and honey (SL) for many years you can see the difference now. SL don't care a jot about teams below them. Fans are dropping off because at the end of the day games are glorified friendlies. Much more to spend their money on these days. Like you say its a miracle how most teams survive and its going to get worse sadly. RL is dieing a slow death outside SL. But don't worry we'll be able to compete with the Aussies and NZ - won't we ?

I believe my eyes by looking at those match reply, not some figures posted.

And yes as a game we are ignoring the championship at our peril. All this IMG stuff is all about SL I agree. As a game we need to grow the championship. I will be even more controversial here. I am far more bothered about preserving the game in such places as Whitehaven instead of trying to promote RL in Tolouse.

So you believe your eyes based on some pictures of a ground with no context? Come off it.

Yes I do, watch the high lights . There is only that one stand with supporters in it and if you can count more than two hundred good luck.

I am not knocking Donny or any championship club. I have found them all to be run by a great bunch of people working hard to keep the game alive. But let's not kid anyone,.gates are worrying low and posting inflated figures is ignoring the problem. Like I have said before the championship and league  1, are is in need of far more support from the wider game

Don't be so ridiculous, you have no way of knowing the attendance based on the tiny amount of information you have.

There's at least 150 in the hospitality tier.

I was expecting around the 900 mark for a Saturday evening game with no away support and, as Jemmo says, a lot going on in Doncaster that day. 1121 was a pleasant surprise. Sunday I'd have expected 1500 ISH.

Very attritional game at Widnes today, neither team looked like scoring from their own efforts. Widnes presented Fev with an interception on the half way line on the stroke of half time and the scoring was completed with a correct though flukey penalty. I reckon if they played on till it went dark it would still have finished 8-0.

Just because you think everyone hates you doesn't mean they don't.

Fax 38 Barrow 12

Barrow fought hard but didn’t help themselves by having a man sinbinned and then an immediate red card by another player for disputing it

Jimmy Kienhorst with the final try on his last touch of the ball, right after the hooter to round off a great career. Poetic stuff.

Back to basics get your defence right and you will not have to score as many to win.

Your defence couldn't be faulted.

Listened to Widnes coach interview after game and didn't give us one good word, said we slowed the rock down and he doesn't agree with it. Up to him to deal with it then.
