Great stuff.

Looking forward to it and I hope York and put in a good showing. Rovers going in without a warm up, potential for a scrappy encounter but it will still be a big ask for York to keep it competitive.

Hull KR had a warm-up (albeit with only half the first team squad) against York in Amsterdam a week and a bit ago?

Probably kr win. That said York would have beaten Leigh a couple of seasons ago if the ref had any balls

😳

Are we saying Hull KR would probably win a game that's already been played?

Over 4000 tickets sold for York v kr

Great to say it's being streamed on The Sportsman as well.

Which, as we all know, stops away fans attending games and spending money on corned beef hash and half time draw tickets.

Or programmes. Are York done with programmes now, Simon? I did ask but they haven't replied.

Great stuff. Despite all the noise I feel like we do have a good format with the CC now (just got to work out a way of seeding community clubs to make it unlikely they'll play an SL side)

I think this shows it can work though. Hull KR fans get to visit a stadium and a team they haven't for a while. York get a payday and I'd imagine Hull KR will make more money from this fixture than previous CC Cup games as it looks like a bigger attendance than previous away Cup fixtures against some SL sides.

I would hope kr give us the gate money for agreeing to play on a Friday night so they have a longer recovery for their precious super league fixture. To hell with our part timers having a 5 day turnaround

works both ways to be fair , we get a clear 8 days before the season opener against oldham which is more important IMO.

Fax's advertising been good for the Catalans game......."Please, please, please come to the game. Also if you want to buy a sponsorship package that would be great as we have a lot left. Also I'm not quite sure why we have left it this late to try and sell this game or why you can buy advanced tickets for more than the price of paying on the gate but please come to the game".

Total shambles off the pitch at the moment.

Not play Super League sides every week I'd imagine

I did see that social media post and it was a bit cringeworthy.

I can confirm 30+ less sales for Scotland vs Italy at Workington, after this afternoons test purchase for the Tonga match, £7.50 is extremely reasonable, however a £2.50 'delivery' fee for a walk in purchase is beyond taking the mickey, good luck with that, it's cheaper on the telly.

Is that a genuine post?

I'm assuming it's paraphrased somewhat. At least I hope so.

I'm not sure if this is what he's paraphrasing?

Can't see that much wrong with it to be honest

I haven’t had corned beef hash for over 30 years, wonder if I can persuade Mrs E to make some.

There’s nothing wrong with it at all. Fax fans know their club is in financial dire straits so they’re saying a big crowd will help them out. It’s hardly a first.

Begging people to come to an event doesn't work.

That's the problem. It's an appeal to existing fans to help the club by attending a fixture that's not on the season ticket. They don't need reminding that Catalan Dragons are a good team. If your promotional efforts are focused on pleading with your own supporter base to help, it's hardly selling the game to a wider audience......

Well it does lead with "calling all Rugby League fans" so its trying to appeal to non Halifax fans.

They’re not begging. What do you think would work though?

Is it frowned upon to speak to your existing customers now?

You know our Owner, Head Coach and players are all happy and very much looking forward to a Friday night game, don't you?

"WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT" is begging. They're asking for help, when they should be selling the event.

It's a professional RL club playing in a prestige cup competition against a top SL & European team, not a fundraiser for a local charity.

Getting a professional social media and marketing team would work wonders.
