What about starting the season on the 26 December … second game on the 1st January … would be a cracking way to kickoff the campaign

Dumped that idea 20 years ago.  It didn't work.  No reason to bring it back.  Season's too long already.  Why aren't players allowed to have a Christmas with their famiies?

Yeah, all those boxing day games that aren't happening in football tomorrow ....... 

Why anyone thinks it would deliver bumper crowds to start the season the day after Christmas I have no idea.
