Should be yet another great game and hopefully a full house.

The team looked tired towards the end of the Widnes game and I'm sure the longer break will have done them good. The big question now who has Sean got who will beat the Bulls. The lad from Wigan showed up really well and would be an asset in a game like this. Also hoping Forber can come in at hooker, that's no offense to Aldridge but we need a bigger presence in the middle something lacking against both Featherstone and Widnes.

We miss Wildie very badly and sorely need someone to take some of the workload off Drinkwater in the middle. A fit Craven would be a start.

Stevos Barber's post is interesting. Let's not get carried away about the benefits of Friday night games - better for some, perhaps, but very much not for others. For example, what about season ticket holders who have other commitments on Friday nights? If this is more than an experimental one-off, they have effectively been cheated, by buying season tickets on the reasonable assumption that our home games would largely be on Sunday afternoons. Will they get recompensed if there are any more late changes to Fridays?

Well call yourself a fn?

what about all the reductions the club have made so far ? It’s called swings and roundabouts

can’t believe some people when the club is doing so much.

Believe me @oldham maxonian is a massive fan and is involved with many of the activities that go on at the club. He makes a good point and one that needs consideration by the club. We need to be respectful of people’s views and opinions.

I’m being very respectful but pointing out that the club give lots of reductions they don’t have to but as soon as they try something it’s right we’re owed monies, I’m a season ticket holder and can’t make Friday but would not dream of asking for money back after all these people have done

my worry is they give up and we go back to how it was.

cant keep giving flack out as soon as it doesn’t fit right.

im just having my point of view.

Personally I voted for Sunday games and not really wanting Friday games but I paid for a season ticket and will keep going. If the Friday night fixtures benefit the club and puts another few hundred on the gate then it's gotta be good,my only concern is it will cause issues with people who work shifts/nights and  will now miss out. Everyone has opinion and we don't all agree,if the gate is badly affected then I expected the club to look at it long term.the club are taking a gamble,we can only see Friday night

My take on the Friday night switch for what its worth:-

When I purchased my season ticket last year it was in the first couple of weeks that they were on sale. At that point no fixtures had been released therefore I did not know who we would play and when. I was aware though that some Championship games are played on a Friday night by some teams so basically just thought I'd go with the flow and attend games that i could whether they be home or away, either on a Sunday afternoon or Friday evening (and possibly some on a Saturday which would feel a bit weird LOL!!!).

I'm one of the lucky ones, I work 8 till 5 all week and live in Oldham so the Bradford game switch from Sunday to Friday does not really effect me that much. I do however understand other fans positions where life is a bit more complex and a switch from a Sunday to a Friday causes logistical issues that cannot be overcome. The problem is whatever the club decide to do will not please everyone, this is unavoidable. Even if you bought a season ticket after all the fixtures had been announced you have to be open minded and expect that there will always be a possibility that for many reasons any fixture could be re-arranged for another time.

The club are trying this experiment with the Bradford game in an attempt to boost attendances, this makes sense to me as potentially this is the biggest income revenue game of the season at Boundary Park. No point doing this with a home game against say for arguments sake Sheffield or Hunslet who bring hardly any fans. I'm sure prior to the decision to switch the game was made BQ / MF would have had discussions with their counterparts at Bradford who I bet would have advised that switching the game to a Friday evening would encourage more Bradford fans to attend. In a previous post i saw it said Bradford took 2500 fans to Halifax, IF replicated at Oldham (and i cant see why not as its again a reasonably local derby between two top teams in the championship) thats approx £50k in revenue for Oldham in one game (split between paying adults and kids coming in free plus food and drink purchases).

In the end for me the club have got to try these experiments, you never know it may result in a damn sight more Oldham fans turning up on a Friday night and from next season we play the majority of home games on a Friday. On the flip side it may fall flat on its backside and on Friday Oldham fans are vastly outnumbered by Bradford, we just do not know?

I hope it is a success I really do, the away following we had at Widnes was a sight to see and made me proud to follow Oldham. The current regime are doing wonders with our club which only a couple of seasons ago was on life support with not much hope of pulling through. We now have a fantastic ownership and a club and a set up that is going places BUT needs the fans backing to take it to the next level. This is not going to happen overnight and all avenues of attracting new fans and increasing revenue streams have to be explored. Whatever the club do is not going to please everyone and I will never say that everything they do I agree with, this is unfortunate but real life and unavoidable but we ALL have to support what the club is trying to do as best we can to achieve long term success and I hope this Friday proves to be a positive decision.

COME ON OLDHAM!!!!!!!!!!!

It's a bit difficult for me to comment as Fridays would be an absolute nightmare for me.

My fear is that if this is an experiment to see if playing on a Friday evening will produce a better crowd then this is a flawed experiment. Bradford would be our biggest crowd of the season whether it was played Sunday, Friday or, even probably at 8 o'clock on a Wednesday morning. Unless the club are going to analyse the figures for the home following only.

I actually don't agree with Oldham Valderama. I think we would have learned more about whether more Oldham fans would have turned up in a game against Sheffield or Hunslet.

But credit to the club for trying something. But it won't work for me sadly.

And remember that 73% of statistics are made up on the spot 😂

Its a shame you cannot make Friday evening, its got the potential to be a cracker. Hope to see you though back at BP for other games this season

Also fair play to you for disagreeing with me, that's the point of these forum's, listening to other peoples points of view and taking them into consideration even if you do not agree. At least the club / fans are having the conversation and are hopefully seeing the pro's & con's from both sides 👍

It's very difficult for the club. I'm pretty sure they would have anticipated better crowds this season and, for whatever reason, it just hasn't happened yet. Therefore, you can certainly understand them trying different things. I hope it's a big crowd on Friday. I'll be there but without my two small grandkids as it's too late for them. However, I'll be there cheering the lads on.

I am indeed a committed fan, and I shall be there on Friday. And I have no objection to it as a one-off experiment, and once proper analysis is done afterwards, if there is a valid conclusion that Fridays would give better average attendances, then I would support a switch - for the 2026 season. My original point was a general one - that it would be unfair for 2025 season ticket holders to have bought their tickets on false pretences. Once a decision is made on 2026 match dates, then each supporter can make a rational decision whether to buy a season ticket or to pay match by match according to their ability to attend. But surely we have plenty of experience from our previous regime of the dangers of p----- off one group of fans after another that we don't want to go down a similar path again with this, I agree, outstanding new regime.

Bradford have asked their fans several times over the past 10 years re home fixtures.

The breakdown is “generally” as follows.

Corporate/sponsors like Friday night games. If a decent % of your income is corporate, your board will consider this.

Most concessions ( >65) and families with young kids prefer Sundays.

Families with older kids that can have other sport on Sundays tend to split their vote.

Adults tend to split their vote, unless they go with their parents (concession) in which case they vote Sunday.

The Bradford support at Halifax was boosted by the Good Friday factor. Will be a bit less this Friday

@Bullmania My advice would be if wanting to use the car park at Boundary Park would be to arrive early doors. Hopefully you will be bringing a good following so spaces may be limited and used up quickly. Also I noticed at our last home game that a decent section of the car park was cordoned off for repairs so we are quite a few spaces down. Its a large car park but fills up pretty quickly pre match. On street parking round the stadium is not great (lots of permit only and  double yellow lines), you can probably find somewhere but may end up being a bit of a trek. Enjoy the game but hopefully not the score 😃
