Was easy to get the tube but having to walk through the shops was ridiculous. Good luck to west ham having 50k football fans walking through there. My mate missed 15 minds of the game as it took 45 mind to collect his ticket from the ticket office. I was impressed with the stadium itself and the view etc. Just think the location is ridiculous. I think the crowd given was correct. Decent effort and lots of southerners which is a good thing

I think your mate should have:

a - Booked his ticket online earlier so he wouldn't have to pick it up from the office; or

b - Collected it earlier (there are always massive queues)

Absolutely nothing wrong with the stadium and location; appalling weather yesterday which hinder the day a little but a really nice walk through the park to the stadium usually.

I agree. Hopefully this might convince people like him to book in advance and get rid of the walk up culture. We will have to disagree about Westfield. I can see why some might enjoy it but for me it was crowded and an awful journey from the tube.

Why did you walk through the shopping centre? We just took the tube to Stratford and followed the signs to the Olympic stadium. Obviously it would have been nicer not to get soaked while outside.

I was impressed with just how quick we got away at the end - even though it's a longer walk than Wembley, we were on the tube inside 15 minutes of the final whistle going.

Definitely crowded as you had 45k from the stadium, West Ham fans and shoppers piling through. I personally didn't mind the walk itself but just my opinion of course.

I thought the walk was great with the only minor downside being that parts of the park are still being redeveloped but that will be sorted soon.

The bonus of Westfield is that 45,000 rugby league fans are a very well behaved walking advertisement for the game. I saw loads of shoppers looking at people's shirts trying to work out what was going on and in several cases ask them and have a friendly conversation.

I went to the game on public transport and went nowhere near Westfield. Nice easy trip from Kings Cross - one stop on the Victoria, then Overground to Hackney Wick. Then ten minutes walk.

Having said that, I don't have a phobia of shopping centres so I could have managed that too if I had wanted.

I can confirm 30+ less sales for Scotland vs Italy at Workington, after this afternoons test purchase for the Tonga match, £7.50 is extremely reasonable, however a £2.50 'delivery' fee for a walk in purchase is beyond taking the mickey, good luck with that, it's cheaper on the telly.

That was the way everyone was forced when exiting the tube. Seemed silly but must be the most direct route

Once in the stadium it looked ok still seems to be a lot of work to do on it, pity about the PA. Good views of the pitch and screens. Got our arrival and departure timings a bit tight so will allow more time next time. All in all a good day.

Success does not consists in never making blunders, but in never making the same one the second time.

I like how we are not even discussing ticket sales for wigan as if selling out was such an obvious thing when in reality it will in the top ten attendances against the kiwis ever!

Yep but this was the highest for a standalone GB/Eng vs NZ fixture.

It is a very rare situation, especially in the recent past, to have a game already sold out in the lead up to a test. Usually when we do sellout, it happens in the few days before after people have seen one of the tests. i even remember in the 2003 ashes series, I bought a ticket on the day at Wigan for the first test against Australia.

I really thought they'd crack 50k, but 45k is still immense for a stand alone game. Remember, it's only a few years since we got 42k for a double header in the 4 Nations.....given time we will fill the OP regularly and then look to move up to Wembley.

On TV the atmosphere came across as very flat.......they need to sort out the positioning of the microphones as you could hear the murmur of conversation sometimes....very odd.

That had nothing to do with the mics. It was very flat and the stadium was echoey. I'm yet to watch it back but from that description, it sounds exactly what I could hear in the stadium.

Also, the crowd built throughout the first 20 mins. When I went into the stadium there were massive queues at the collection office outside. Apparently the traffic was bad too. I was disappointed at kick off but so many more came in after that. I took this picture during the game too. Thought it captured the attendance well
