I'll also add York is apparently the 2nd most visited city in the UK outside of London.

I love York, I think its a great city, but surely that isnt true?

Not that its really relevant to the thread, but I would have thought Edinburgh, Liverpool, Manchester to name just a few would get alot more visitors. Not to mention Salisbury ;)

I'm sure it was reported in a newspaper earlier this year...so yep can't be true!

Mind you it can't be easy working out visitor numbers. Would be an easier job counting spare seats at Toronto ?

Maybe Man of Kent can get a job working for the York tourist board?

Ideal candidate!

A bit of googling shows York is just inside the top 10 most visited cities...but was voted most popular city. Again not sure how you measure that.

Already got a trip to York agreed with the missus, she’ll tolerate the sport because of the city. Trying to think of another rugby league location where that deal will work ?

Predictions for the future -

Crusaders RL to get a franchise for 2012 onwards -WRONG

Widnes Vikings also to get a franchise - RIGHT

Crusaders RL to do the double over Widnes and finish five places ahead of them -WRONG

Widnes Vikings NOT to dominate rugby league in years to come! STILL TO COME

I promise to pay 10 to the charity of Bomb Jacks choice if Widnes Millionaires finish above the battling underdogs Crusaders RL. I OWE A TENNER!

Very much well deserved from York. From a Bulls fan point of view they have been the most cohesive side all year and Ford has them playing some terrific open rugby. I actually think the thing that has won them the league is a stat which was branded about that York had played 7 games where the outcome was within 6 points either way and won 6. Where as we played 4 I think it was an won only one. Whether that was down to attitude or not, them are the sort of games champion sides are built on when you are not completely on it. Also big hats off to Whitehaven too who gave us Bulls fans a glimmer of hope for a while on Sunday sounds like they played a big part in the game too, under testing times they have done well this year

There is plenty of RL below SL worth watching and following, such as York. Many would say it's more interesting, not that I could possibly comment.

It takes wisdom to know when a discussion has run its course.

It takes reasonableness to end that discussion.

Don’t want to tempt faith Robert but your not promoted yet so you might be able to kill 2 birds with one stone. A little bit of me hopes you don’t go up as I would love to visit your place again

I know I'd like nothing better than to see YCK in Toronto again and see the WP at the "new" York stadium but I'm hoping it's you chaps moving up rather than us moving/staying down. Whats the name of the new stadium and whereabouts is it??

ABK,

I spend a lot of time in Spain, indeed I am there at the moment. When I am over here I meet with 3 other couples all from York.2 from Dunnington,1 from Stamford Bridge.Last Saturday I was having a coffee with them at the local market.I asked them how they thought the game on Sunday would go. To my amazement none of them knew anything about the game indeed one of them thought the club had folded. Two of them actually played rugby many years ago albeit the other code for York R.I. apparently.Whether they read or listen to local news I do not know. But I can assure you they know now as I informed them if they won on Sunday they would win the league.I will probably see them again this weekend so I will see their reaction to the news York are the Champions of League 1. I will post their reactions.

Got to admit (and this is not sour grapes as I congratulated York in a previous post and said I thought they were more cohesive as a team than us) I just found the comment from Ford saying we are better than Bradford slightly off. Games between both of us finished with the same result, ultimately we have scored more points than them over the season, even though they hit 144 in one game. We also conceded less. They have been better than Bradford in close games for definite and that has won them the title. To say downright we are better than Bradford can no way be measured
