I remember in the early-mid 90's when he wrote In the Daily Mirror. Always looked a little bizzare in his pic with dreads (or something similar) and had a pretty unique style.

Liked him, RIP.

Mine also.

It's tragic.

Rugby Union the only game in the world were the spectators handle the ball more than the players.

Simply dreadful news.

Terry Hall was a bloody genius, wrote some of my favourite songs and was a fantastic stage presence in his own inimitable way. "Deadpan" is a descriptive word that might have been invented for him. Saw him fronting the Specials on several occasions, the last time at Sheffield in the not too distant past.

I was in a pub quiz only last Wednesday and a question was asked : "What song was co written  by Terry Hall and Jane Wiedlin in 1981" and they played the intro to it, which I didn't need to hear to know the answer.

Just put SKY news on and that was the first story I saw.  Absolutely gobsmacked.  Just got my Spotify year in review and ‘A Message to you, Rudy’ was in my top 5 most listened to songs.

We all get used to the passing of people that were adults when we were young but when it is people of similar age it is sobering.

Thanks Terry for the memories.

Horrible news. Rest In Peace Terry Hall your music along with the rest of the "Two Tone"  "ska" bands brought a lot of kids from different backgrounds in Belfast together.

Not only was the music brilliant but they were part of the formation of my political and social views that have not changed from then until now.

My favourite Specials song (probably not the best or most influential) was "Stupid Marriage" with Terry as the defendent and Neville Staples as Judge Roughneck.

"I am the avenging angel; I come with wings unfurled, I come with claws extended from halfway round the world. I am the God Almighty, I am the howling wind. I care not for your family; I care not for your kin. I come in search of terror, though terror is my own; I come in search of vengeance for crimes and crimes unknown. I care not for your children, I care not for your wives, I care not for your country, I care not for your lives." - (c) Jim Boyes - "The Avenging Angel"

Yes i didnt know that until i read the obituaries in the paper.  Interesting that he ended up on Get Carter after pulling out of the film he was working on after the producer threatened to shoot him

Get Carter is a classic. Ted Lewis, who wrote the novel and was from Barton-upon-Humber, always wanted it to be set in his home area of North Lincolnshire, Scunthorpe in particular. It was Hodges who decided to base it in Newcastle.

Not a lot of people know that.

I loved VLS and i thought TV Offal was hilarious. When he phoned up Derek Nimmo  to tell him the queen mother has died.
My god has she died !!!.

Sad that that's now been confirmed.

At first it was thought he'd just slipped into a korma.
