Nice Easter trip to SW France possible with Toulouse playing Hull KR on Easter Monday.

I also note Catalans are playing Warrington on Saturday 14 May and Toulouse vs Wakefield on Sunday 15 May if anyone was interested in a weekend trip.

Catalan Dragons v Toulouse Olympique now confirmed for April 14th and being screened on Sky Sports.

This match is historic.

Ridiculous for French RL fans. Both derbies n a Thursday night

Seems brain-dead.

I can't get my head around the reasoning for this.

So people in West Yorkshire can watch it without it clashing with lower league football? It’s a crazy decision.

Or Sundays, even more baffling as the game in April is at 20h30 and good Friday isn't a bank holiday in France. Most people in France work until 6/7pm and 8 pm in shops. So they will have lost traveling fans.

I Believe both clubs where looking to stage at least one game at a neutral stadium with a large capacity & try to entice many French people to the game, not on a Thursday nite.

Gutted with the timing - Hull Derby! Any other date, I’d be over for that no question 🤬🤬🤬

Apparently this site says I "won the day" here on 23rd Jan, 19th Jan, 9th Jan also 13th December, whatever any of that means. Anyway, 4 times in a few weeks? The forum must be going to the dogs - you people need to seriously up your game. Where's Dutoni when you need him?

Do the French celebrate our Bank holidays?

Ours are set dates so if it lands on a Sunday you don't get anything, except for Easter Monday and the Thursday of ascension.

Then your broadcaster will be Saturday.

OMG, I wish I had the money, the Ibis Hotel is a stones throw away from the SNCF station, and a fair walk to Stade Giral. I would be there. The atmosphere, even on a Thursday will be electric.

At least Toulouse, by virtue of not being in the championship this season, have avoided playing a fixture on the Thursday we have off for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee 🙂

Most French bank holidays are on Tuesdays and Thursdays

Monday Je Suis Malade/I am sick  (So pointless going into work:)

Tuesday Holiday

Wednesday Le Pont (The Bridge) Malade usually again or maybe the car has broken down or no petrol due to strike

Thursday Holiday

Friday Pointless going into work as one normally knocks off at lunchtime, although might stop by the office to pick up ones luncheon vouchers

So there you go

Plus both Toulouse and Catalans made to travel to Magic weekend when they could have had a 3rd lucrative fixture between themselves, with Newcastle filling the gap with a Championship match to start the magic weekend.

Yes! Seemed an obvious move to me, too!
