Which TRLers have you met?

For me officially one, Phil. Saw his band play in Halifax. Funny though he talked to me in the 3 Pigeons before the Monday league match and I didn't cotton on it was me and he didn't recognise me. Weirdly I've stood next to Hindle xii at a Bulls Leeds game. We didn't talk and he didn't recognise me.

nb. I am serious mind. Hindle and I were friends on fb in the early days.

Three for me.

Phil, who used to live close by.

Bob8, who stayed with his mrs in our cottage for a few nights.

Robin Evans, whom I've spoken to on a couple of occasions years ago at matches.

None I'm sad to say

though I think I must have drunk a pint or two next to quite a few,

I'm not one for asking people I don't know if they're an avatar as I can imagine some of the responses I'd get.

None, as far as I know, but Shadow lives just a couple of miles or so away.

Curiously, when he stood in the local council election for the ward I live in, one of his opponents was a member of my church choir while another member of that choir was one of Shadow's canvassers.

I have met lots of the correspondents on here.

Funny thing is they all seem to claim its my round but I don't remember them buying me a pint.

2 of them.

Diehard near stadium Australia in Sydney.

One other person who I recognised from a photo on here. I saw him at millennium stadium in Cardiff and went up and introduced myself. He remembered me from the forum and we had a quick chat. For the life of me I now forget his username on here!

Padge, Old Frightful, Roy Boy, Bob8, Stan Doffarf and Mick Gledhill. There may be a couple more whom I 'met' very briefly, so apologies to anyone if I missed you off my list.

Shadow as a council member sounds like a Superhero script, Batman style.

I have met a lot of people who no longer post on here, usually Saints fans I have p'd off 😄

I have stumbled across many others in the past.

I see Tony XIII whenever I am in Crete, about every two years.

I usually see Old Frightful aout 5 minutes after kick off at Wigan v Hull games as he has no sense of timing. Roy Boy gets included.

There used to be regular meet ups at big events, mainly internationals, but cup finals and magic have also been occassions for people to say hello.

Us old farts used to do face to face, more likely them young 'uns do social media pointless contacts these days.

Get off your ***** and say hello to each other.

I don't know how you've managed to meet each other and was about to suggest a TRLers Tshirt to help sort this out but it seems only two of us need one.

I first met Padge in the middle of the Old Town of Rethymno. Neither of us knew what the other looked like, so I donned what, at the time, was my only RL related piece of clothing - a Bradford Bulls shirt! I went for a stroll round the Old Town, and he spotted me straight away.

Twas in the days of yore, the days of The Mighty Penguins.  We held conferences in Leeds, Liverpool, Huddersfield that I can recall. I still have my (shrunk in the wash.😀) commemorative polo shirt and my fleece.

Plus one general meet up in Edinburgh, including The Game Caller!

Bernard Manning lives! Welcome to be New RFL, the sport's answer to the Wheeltappers and Shunters Social Club.

It was all so long ago so apologies for omissions and errors, Mick Gledhill was at one, Old  Frightful, possibly Padge,  Hullgal, Maggie (real first name) , Paley,  Tony XIII if I recall correctly, George (real name) and many and various others...even some of the St Helens persuasion.

Sorry John, I knew I'd overlooked someone, but how could I forget you? AFAIR, we met at Craven Park, Hull, after an England-France game. Hope you're keeping well.

Also met Mistress Marlowe (?), pre-match in a pub in Hull. She was chaperoned by OF and RoyBoy.

Was he eating a pie ? 😉
