Tommygilf Posted June 3, 2024 Posted June 3, 2024 1 hour ago, Griff said: The problem with Fev getting a winding up order is that they do actually have assets. Unlike most of the clubs in the league. Fev supporters have always been quick to point at the land they own (subject to mortgages, obviously). Unfortunately it just attracts winding up orders. Quite - if you are just a club and that's it they want you to keep going to pay debts. If you have assets, they can be liquidated to pay your debts instead.Β

However in my experience in such circumstances this is the tip of the ice berg and there are many other debts of varying magnitude not being settled.

Fax have are over 12 months in arrears with rent and had a crisis fans forum meeting just the other week along with advertising for outside investment. Not sure if that counts. Probably not helped with yet another drop in funding but teams knew it were coming. For Fax I think its more a case of a group of people taking over who thought it would be easy to run a rugby club after giving it all the big licks and then realising how hard and financially draining it is and we find ourselves in this mess now. 3

sentoffagain2 Posted June 4, 2024 Posted June 4, 2024 Β Β Β I think some clubs overestimate the yearly income.Including gates ,league finishing position and cup matches. The safe way is to estimate the lowest income from games. The sponsorship and bar takings should be in line with previous years. And then budget to income ,no more than 70% on the players wages.Hopefully with no promotion to SL Championship clubs should be able to budget without throwing money following the dream. For next season i would like to see Ford ,Campbell and Vickers away.It would be difficult bringing in directors and chairman with loads of moneyΒ but if we don't make a clean break i fear we will go round in circles.

Sounds very sensible to me, I realise I had a mischievous dig in this thread. So let's hope the amount owed can be sorted without causing serious long term damage. However I still stand by that in this IMG world it's time Fev re set their ambitions and realised their limitations.
