Plenty of teams seem happy prioritise paying their bills, over chasing a success/promotion that their businesses can't sustain. Fev's previous success in no-way mitigates where they are now and how they choose to operate. History does not pay the bills. 1

DEANO Posted June 5, 2024 Posted June 5, 2024 Don’t forget fev were kept down to make way for the failed experiment in Paris. Perhaps if they’d been promoted instead they may still be mixing it with the greedy boys 1 sometimes you have to take a step backwards to move forward
RigbyLuger Posted June 5, 2024 Author Posted June 5, 2024 All those fans who call Super League 'Super Greed" don't want to see their sides play in it, do they? 1 1

Teams like Barrow and Hunslet also had wembley appearances back then, however the game has changed and moved on. As a Wakey supporter my club also has a great history but again it was all back then. At Wakey many of our supporters remember those past glories and like to dream that they will return. We have a long way to go to get there but things now seem in place to give us hope at least. However at Fev ,I really don't think reality has yet dawned and your first sentence sums it up, a little pit village. There is no doubt Fev have a place in the game, but I am certain it will never be in the top league anymore, unless the game reverts back to part time as it was back in those glory days for the club. Or someone with a shed load of money comes in and pumps a stupid amount of money in to the club. I guess that is a little bit like Wakefield whom if that hadn't happened recently you have to feel would have been consigned to the Championship for the forseable future. 7

The reason Featherstone Rovers are not paying players, being late on debts, (etc) is because of PSG RL. Can you not read the thread? 1 1 5 Build a man a fire, and he'll be warm for a day. No. See there's the thing - Wakey were ###### on the field because the last owner couldn't afford to spend money the club didn't have. It made us uncompetitive and led to our relegation. We paid our bills rather than chase dreams. Now we have a wealthy owner, so we can pay the bills AND chase dreams. Edited June 5, 2024 by dboy 3

Go on, tell me how many times Wakefield finished bottom... In fact, tell us all the finishing positions. Hardly challenging for silverware, but seldom surviving... I'll wait.
