Fax have are over 12 months in arrears with rent and had a crisis fans forum meeting just the other week along with advertising for outside investment. Not sure if that counts.

Probably not helped with yet another drop in funding but teams knew it were coming. For Fax I think its more a case of a group of people taking over who thought it would be easy to run a rugby club after giving it all the big licks and then realising how hard and financially draining it is and we find ourselves in this mess now.

And still signing players?

sometimes you have to take a step backwards to move forward

Do you honestly believe that IMG will stick around for 12 years?

If they aren't, will everyone's problems go away?

Why wouldn't they? They get a paycheck out of it?

Don't have any choice or they would not be able to field a full team with all the injuries and to be fair they have released a number as well so the wage bill would have come down.

Hush now with your common sense views on the situation.

Does that excuse work in the face of a winding up petition?

It was obvious that it didn't concern wages when it was a South African bank/investment company issuing the writ. However they have probably been ignored when asking for payments due before issuing the writ.We tend to let payments due drag on without agreeing a payment plan. Not a good look for the club and it's supporters.

Depends on the substance of Matt Shaws reports.

If further investment, especially with regards new board members, stadium improvements and commercial partners, comes to fruition, then maybe not everything is doom and gloom.

We will wait and see... as a Fev fan, hopefully everything will stabilise and we can get on with being disappointed with the performances on the field... or not 🙂.

Wasn't Elstone the great white hope who didn't last 5 minutes? The thought of dealing with those SL Chaimmen for 12 years must seem like a life sentence.

Have you forgotten the mess clubs such as Wigan, Hull, London and Huddersfield to name just a few got into in the not too distant past? Even things at Leeds were precarious before Caddick took over.

It's an organisation not a person, they can stick fresh faces in to be worn down each year if they like

I just hope they can get out of this mess somehow, though I think getting into this situation in the first place is more than anything a reflection of the changing face of our sport as it tries to come to terms with the realities of the 21st century.  Along with some other clubs, too small for the big time, too big to lose.

March 2025 and the lunatics have finally taken control of the asylum.

So what's the theory with London?

Big city club run like a...club who only spends the money it has and pays its bills.

An over-rated business concept for some, I know.

Featherstone that little pit village between Wakefield and Pontefract have appeared in six Wembley finals.Winning 3 Challenge Cup Finals  v Barrow Bradford and Hull FC and losing two against Workington Town and Warrington.Plus a win over York in the 1895 Cup.How many big city sides would like that record. We had a population of 12000 up to the last few years and it has increased to about 16500 at present.I think we have done quite well but don't expect some posters on here to agree.

There were a fair number of fans on both the Castleford and Wakefield forums this week salivating at the thought of gaining an extra 0.5 catchment area points on the IMG spreadsheet if Fev went under.

How on earth Vickers gets away with it is a mystery. Every club he’s been at has suffered the same fate. Left Salford council under a financial cloud. Absolute charlatan.

Yes a great history, but how long ago was it ? Teams like Barrow and Hunslet also had wembley appearances back then, however the game has changed and moved on. As a Wakey supporter my club also has a great history but again it was all back then. At Wakey many of our supporters remember those past glories and like to dream that they will return. We have a long way to go to get there but things now seem in place to give us hope at least. However at Fev ,I really don't think reality has yet dawned and your first sentence sums it up, a little pit village. There is no doubt Fev have a place in the game, but I am certain it will never be in the top league anymore, unless the game reverts back to part time as it was back in those glory days for the club.
