Don’t think the Eagles tactic of ‘let Swinton mouth off to the referee and implode’ will work this time around, like it did in the Challenge Cup. Will be a scrappy one, could go either way…

Eagles by 8.

Usually in Sunderland, sometimes in Sheffield.

Looking at the Trinity and York squads there’s a lot missing for both.

Trinity missing McGillvray, Pratt, Atoni, Hood, Pitts, Boothroyd and Bain.

Im amazed the Trinity squad still looks very strong with those out. You don’t realise how much quality depth Trinity have until there’s a lot missing but it’s still strong.

Have to say the recruitment this season has unearthed some quality talent capable of stepping up and doing well in SL.

Spending three times as much as everyone else will do that for you to be fair, Fev had similar strength in depth last year on about 2/3 of the spend. Tricky issue for Trinity will be knowing where they are for next year because at this stage this looks the weakest Championship comp for many years (barring Wakefield).  You could really do with one of the other Championship teams making a lot of progression to get some sort of gauge on your current squad members.

Yep Trinity will need to manage the fact that they won't have to exert themselves too much to win a lot of games with their squad.  It's not really the best preparation for SL and some players may get dragged down to the lower level.

Yeah but it's a long season and plenty of time for every player to get games in.

Maybe those games won't be for Wakefield.

Few games that could go either way this weekend - I reckon York v Wakefield is the only one where I'd probably have double figures for the handicap.

Hopefully we play a lot better than we have been and there’s a decent game to watch.
