Nice to see that the new kit will be a 2 year thing. That also suggests that GB are not returning next year.

The second year will be for England Knights v Wales. At Widnes on a Tuesday night.

I can confirm 30+ less sales for Scotland vs Italy at Workington, after this afternoons test purchase for the Tonga match, £7.50 is extremely reasonable, however a £2.50 'delivery' fee for a walk in purchase is beyond taking the mickey, good luck with that, it's cheaper on the telly.

You'd like to think so but I think you are giving the powers that be too much credit.

Aye, nothing would be surprising, but thr email does state the England RL kit will cover 2 years which includes Sampa series plus the Ashes.

Good spot, I was going to say they’ve been clever because they’ll say the England shirt is still valid as next years shirt will be GB. But, having read the email it says it will be worn in the ashes, so that should mean England. And if not then a refund!

After the 2004 and 2005 kits were reprised in 2024 and 2025 the 2006 one is waiting just around the corner in all its miserable depravity.

Nothing to commemorate in that season.

The RFL sent me an email confirming there is an Ashes next year, I have it in writing, now you just need to tell me the dates RFL/ARLC

That Rhinos heritage jersey is undeniably very nice, but is there any danger of Oxen actually producing a decent kit of their own design? Absolute charlatans.

The Leeds shirt looks decent, but they have turned out some tripe in the past. Regarding England shirts, they would maybe appeal more to the masses if they were manufactured by one of the big boys such as Adidas.

Sadly, brands like Adidas and Nike have shown no appetite to get involved in RL over the past 20+ years. Castore, which is a British brand on the up, has supplied kits to a couple of NRL teams - would be good to see them produce some kit for SL/England teams.

It's worrying how their original designs seem to often be so poor.

A lot of this, and this is mimicked in the 2 years of retro shirts we have seen, is that those older shirts used to be thicker and use panelling and trim designs. Oxen just don't do that sort of panelling so it all looks a bit lower in quality? ISC used to do more detailed panelling designs if only for the fan editions in the main.

Losing in a Challenge Cup semi to Huddersfield at Odsal? Being knocked out of the playoffs in the first round at home by Warrington?  It was a great season!

This is quite a common theme within RL with the small brands that operate within the sport. Its easy to look at the past kits for future kits. Fans buy into it, so commercially it makes sense, but there should be some desire to produce contemporary kit designs. Not just visually, but by being progressive with the actual structural design of the kits - which is where the big brands add their interest.

It wont add much commercial value to RL kits sadly - so unlikely Oxen or any of the others will really look to do such things.

Oxen have come some way in the last few years - and are a better option now than they were previously.

Not a fan. It looks over designed to me. And some of the design elements just don’t work collectively. Seems like they are determined to shoe horn in the blue.

All just My opinion of course.

RL shirts are always over designed - feels that way anyway - to the extent that this is pretty restrained compared to some.

The nod to 1982 England is obvious enough that I think I’ve seen about 20 people think they’re the first to notice it without being a needless copy. Again, by RL design standards, it’s almost subtle.

If I bought shirts, I’d buy this one.

They've tried to cram too much into it. Needlessly IMO. Its classic Oxen tbh - there has to be a visible and significant difference to generate sales from the same people who bought the last one (and the one before that). Its not a nice kit, which is a real shame.
