Bar a swing of 127 points, Bulls secure minimum of third spot for second successive season. 

Made it hard work today. Batley game as always, but we dominated field position and Batley looked to lack any real quality. Woeful game management from ourselves. Countless missed drop goals and gifting 7 tackle sets in the closing stages. Then a dropped ball giving Batley a walk in. Very very lucky but 2 points is all that matters at this stage.

Not even on the radar. Today at Keepmoat was one of celebration. So proud of my club. Thanks for the praise it's always appreciated.

Scoreline flattered Widnes a bit today, Doncaster were much the better team.

The fact that Sheffield play York and York play Featherstone means that it's impossible for the three teams around us to all get 4 points, but we probably need to win one of the remaining two, and I don't think we'd be favourites to win either of them.

This is a good juncture to explain myself to you. First of all I don’t hate the Dons. IMHO the current team is consistent as are many others. Six years were spent trying to get out of League 1 with Horne in charge. I do not think he is the man for the job but that is only my opinion. Finally my main gripe is this and from my point of view the total crux of the matter. The club should not have been allowed to bring in Farimo and Fonua for the League 1 play offs. They were desperate due to Horny’s previous failings. I will never change my view on that. People like Tom Halliday were sacrificed and he is still on the outside now and no I am not related to him in any way shape or form. Same thing is happening at Oldham now as they chase their perceived dream.

Faraimo and Fonua were free agents and signed before the deadline, what other requirements are there?

Incidentally there are a number of Dons fans who also aren't convinced on Horne

I go further back Studdy to Sargent Major Eric Clay, he would have told them to not be so soft get up and get on with it.

As a sixteen year old playing in the final of an amatuer cup Mr Clay was the referee, I remember him coming into the dressing room pre game to check our finger nails and studs, addressing everyone he told us what he expected and what we could and couldn't do, he concluded with "I will give you one warning and then your off" he then went through and closed the door behind him, after a few short seconds the door opened and he bellowed "you've just had your first warning".

I think all the players and spectators want is consistency from the refs these days, there are one or two younger ones coming through who are doing ok, Liam Rush for one, he seems to be pretty good on the occasions I have seen him.

Had a disagreement with my mates about attempting drop goals at the 20 min and 9 minute mark with the game as it was. What were your thoughts?

Was correct to go for the drop IMHO Especially in those conditions. It would have put us two scores ahead and I personally feel Batley didnt quite have enough quality to do that. They really struggled to get out of their own half in the second half.

At one score we were always hanging on not to be suckerpunched, which we ended up being but luckily still got the win. 

The flip side was we were so bad at setting up for the one point, we ended up missing and handing Batley a 20m tap and seven tackles on multiple occasions, which then allowed them to into our half and attack.

  Fred Lindop was thin as a rail .very smart and not a hair out of place.He reffed a Test Match on the Saturday and then turned out reffing a local derby in The Wakefield Sunday League on the Sunday.He let a bit go but not much and nothing dangerous.
