You can see Leutele's arm hit Welsby in the head on the replay, regardless of whether he's staying down or not.

Nope. Hit him fair

The only people that need to be embarrassed is the pathetic official their zealousness is ruining this sport

Completely disagree.

So much wrong with that incident for our sport.

First of all it was a great tackle.  Should have been no penalty.

Second, why are Saints players running in to confront a player for making a fair, hard tackle

Third, if it wasn't a fair tackle and was in fact a foul and Welsby was hit in the head, why on earth is he not off for a HIA after not being able to regain his feet after a head knock.

Indeed. I don't understand the middle ground. Leutele leveled him (in what I believe was a clean hit).

I think I recall the ref' saying there was some "secondary contact to the head" which I didn't really understand from seeing replays. Which I can only assume means the first contact wasn't to the head but somehow there was contact after initial contact?

No idea.

Didn’t hear the ref say that. Just mitigation applicable. No explanation of what it was. Strange.

Officials changed the game

Two, Leigh been done over here by yet more poor officiating.

The officials have got so much wrong in this game. It’s not a good look at all. It needs addressing.

I mean sure, all people involved can change the game somewhat.

Officials didn't tell Moylan to take 10 years before he decided to try and get the ball.

He definitely said something after he mentioned mitigation, but it was kind of mumbled. Don't have the ability to rewind on the platform im watching.

Really bad decision. Terrible gamesmanship by Welsby. Should have been 10 minutes Makinson and penalty Leigh

I think it was the physios that enabled the gamesmanship. Welsby looked like he was getting back up

Agreed, Lam stays on his feet and the try is given 👏

The Saints player isn't in the line, Lam makes the tackle

Only because he knew he'd got the penalty. He does it weekly

Best was when the physio/doctor came on and went instantly to do a head check and Wellsby pushed them away as if to suggest why you checking my head😁

Yes, I recall him saying there was ''secondary contact''.

Just a good shot on the Saints' #1.
