With three players signed and without a credible financial future, what really should be happening is London are relegated to League 1 and either the next team from the Championship are promoted or the best relegated should stay up... or drop the comp to 12 teams.

What credibility? He makes stuff up all the time

As ive said before, after his foul-mouthed rant against the RFL, Rimmer and other officials a few years ago, he shouldn't be allowed anywhere near the game in any accredited capacity.

Just think of the times he got banned on here. There was one against referees where I thought the owners of this site were lucky not to be sued for libel!

TBF neither would most heartlands clubs.....

I suppose the difference is with the heartland clubs there's benefactors waiting in the wings to step in. The worry with London is that it might not be the case for them.

I was born to run a club like this. Number 1, I do not spook easily, and those who think I do, are wasting their time, with their surprise attacks.

Guy was, and is, a muppet of the highest order

The delusions of grandeur of people like him and that League Freak divvy to think that their internet commentary means they can start playing dress up as "journalists" is hilarious though. 🤣

Have a look on Google Earth - I'd question whether it makes the minimum standards for a Championship ground.

My son lived very close by until recently.  It's certainly a ground with 'character' There's a fairly beaten up main stand that holds a couple of hundred, a very large bar at one end, a thatched cottage at the other. Along one side there are three rows of benches with a corrugated iron "roof" (and back) which seemed to be held together by the ivy growing through the holes. There are also a load of picnic benches that people sit on to watch the game.

It's counted as recreational land, otherwise it would've been sold off for tens of millions to a property developer long ago. There's been quite a bit of planning conflict - private gyms and dark kitchens operating without permission from the grounds have both attracted attention from the local NIMBYs.

If the London Broncos have London Broncos aspirations then maybe showing a bit of humility and playing somewhere suitable might be a good start.

(I haven't been to Rosslyn Park for about 20 years so can't comment on the state of the place but Plough Lane is not right for where the club is in reality and is too expensive).

Rosslyn Park is a run down ground with seating that doesn't inspire my 18 stone to sit down safely without fear .....

It is however much more appropriate than Plough Lane (which as a stadium is ok and with a great club bar and food option vans)

Plus Plough Lane suffers from sink holes and in this ers of player safety we need to be cautious

I'll say this.....the in goal areas are massive so it makes for exciting last plays

Dewsbury played a Cup game against the Broncos at Rosslyn Park last year. The place felt like it was falling to bits but I seem to remember it had a great bar.

It can't have been that good if you remember. 😉

If they need £900k for the year (was that correct?), they’ll get central funding of what, maybe £150k? They will hopefully get sponsorship of something similar, if Brewdog et al renew. They make some revenue off tickets and F&B, say £100k.
So you’re still needing to get over 3,000 members/season ticket holders. I guess that number comes down with every corporate box sold and some merchandise. Maybe the number is 2,000. It’s a helluva task.

If you think Brewdog paid anything like £150,000 you need your bumps felt.

25+ years neglect of commercial and supporter based revenue streams will result in fewer than 300 season ticket sales, maybe 100 shirt sales by pre-order and little else.

If you doubt this, wait for the pictures of the soon to be announced club xmas event which will be held as Rosslyn Park and not Plough Lane, even though the latter is a far better suited venue and supposedly "key to our future".

As for central funding. Other than paying the wages of the CEO and the  others who have (IMO) stolen a wage in recent years, there's litle point until the club can confirm they are able to go ahead with the ENTIRE 2025 season, including flights etc to France.

I’m just trying to do some beer coaster calculations to get a sense of the task ahead.
BrewDog wouldn’t have chipper in £150k, but with player sponsors, match day sponsors etc I’d hope that it’d be 6 figures.
Judging by the latest signings, they’re not recruiting on a £900k expected budget.

Going on past experience, Brewdog could have secured that simply by providing a venue for a few post game drinks. Broncos (pre Hughes) quite famously had Bartercard sponsorship that turned out to be worth less than the cost of eating out at Pizza Hut.

Have they run before they can walk? https://londonrlcooperative.co.uk/

Has that been written by AI? Feels like someone who has never used it before entered some nonsense about organising rugby events, generating income, and doing it in an upbeat tone, etc, and that website is the outcome. Bizarre!

I suspect it's a holding page and/or someone has seen that there is a real London RL Cooperative being set up and believes there is value in disrupting.

It came up via a google search though - so it's clearly findable and there to be seen.

Don't forget the time the London Junior RL negotiated a sponsorship deal with Selco, only for the Broncos to get wind of it and undercut them. A particular high point of Hughes' time in charge.

I don't think I knew that one.
