Who's funding the club?

So the post this week says they have 11 signings,  the 6 original training trialists "which are going really well are bedding well into the team", 8 new trialists as well as ongoing recruitment for permanent signings. Sounds like they expect to at least make the Challenge Cup game against Goole.

I saw this earlier via the Broncos and struggled a bit to work out whether this is good news or not. I'm still puzzled.

I don't think it suggest things are going well on the "Broncos have money" front.

Or perhaps it means they're going swimmingly..

Seeing how we're spending 10k on training tops.

I took out a "4020" membership for the upcoming season, and received an email this morning with the details. So seems to be business as usual.

Main concern now would be the team. I think we only have 2 backs currently, decent looking pack though!

Perhaps some unattached former Championship players might like a stint in the capital, or perhaps some Aussies who fancy a year or 2 in the capital playing part time.

Not easy for part-time Aussie players to get a UK work visa these days.

Just a reminder that the Broncos needed £ 350,000 in order to be ready for the first competitive game and a further £ 550,000 to complete the season.

https://www.londonbroncosrl.com/a-message-from-london-broncos-chief-executive-jason-loubser

Despite the grading from IMG this has not attracted any "White Knights" willing to bankroll a broken busioness model and with the door slamming shut on £ 175 season tickets as early as 6th January.with the first home game not until 23rd February. I will not speculate as to why... Not that 5.30pm kick offs make that much sense for Rugby Leagues regional club

No new players signed so still not a contracted XIII apart from triallists who will be used in the Challenge Cup game I gather. Nor any dual-registration deal with a super league club such as the one St Helens announced with Halifax yesterday.

Not looking good for the upcoming season after which with the IMG rating plummeting post 2025 making it an even less attractive option for investors.

The club has announced you can buy tickets for the game against a Goole Vikings side containing the quality of Brett Ferres and Jamie Shaul for a 12.30am game at ramshackle Rosslyn Park RFC (season tickets not valid)

https://www.londonbroncosrl.com/challenge-cup-tickets-now-available

This really is not going to end well. It's not so much where on the lower half of the table they will finish the season as whether they will finish the season full stop.☹️

The membership deadline is odd but we must presume meaningful. What it means is not clear but I'm guessing it might signify a switch to a plan B - I wonder if Rosslyn Park will end up being home now and the next step is how to negotiate/communicate that to all involved.

I'm told from a reliable source that there will soon be some very good news for the Broncos.

Whoever the new Owner(s) are they will need to move fast with the new league season 37 days away and most available players in the northern hemisphere of the right standard already signed.

I also hope diligence is also undertaken on the new saviour(s). As running a rugby league club in London, especially on this business model, is expensive.

Interesting update on companies house. David Hughes director appointment terminated, seemingly replaced by Mike Eccles and Jason Loubser. On the “persons with significant control” an interim notification has been posted saying “The company has not yet completed taking reasonable steps to find out if there is anyone who is a registrable person or a registrable relevant legal entity in relation to the company” https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/05322378/filing-history

You got the email from the kit suppliers too?

Everyone that bought a home shirt gets another one for free, as they messed up the collars on some of them apparently.

That's pretty good news, 2 shirts for the price of 1? Or perhaps 1 1/2 shirts, depending on if your collar is OK or not.

Having seen some social media clips of Broncos training they have healthy numbers - I can only assume Eccles is keeping a continued eye on a dozen to pad out the squad.

I recognised one Welsh international and one Jamaican international (neither announced as signings yet) as well as Doncaster and Hull KR training tops in the midst of the ‘huddle’

Eccles is no mug so I trust he’ll add sufficient quality to ensure a stronger squad than what’s seen in paper.

They’ve sold more season tickets than ever, apparently. That’s good news. No shortage of trialists. If Eccles is happy to work for free in return for being a shareholder, then there’s no reason why they won’t finish the season. It just might be at Rosslyn Park.
Also the preseason event was held at a Brewdog pub. Could they be renewing their sponsorship?

Season tickets dropped in price to 120 from 175 if you only wanted to attend men’s team games 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

Someone reads my posts... I meant 12.30pm 😳

I would be unimpressed to pay £ 175 for a membership that has now dropped to £ 120. I thought the additional cost was not for admission to both the men and womens teams, but for a game worn shirt (Which actually now you come to think of it might be from the ladies team )  and a mug which In traditional Broncos manner might leave the reciepient perhaps a little peeved and not just staring at a mug but feeling like one.....

The Doncaster training top looked like the fullback Elliot Hall to me, who left Doncaster at the start of last season
