Ā  Ā Congratulations to Max Jowitt on breaking the points in a season record held by the late Lewis Jones. But if the three points for a try by Lewis 36 in a season was upgraded to four the record would stand at 532.

Ultimate insult to Toulouse there. Always poor games when you get a lop sided game like this but Wakey have been the best team in the division by a long distance.Ā

Nice lofted ball from Lino to McGillvary, who slides in.

The retiring wingman absolutely splits the uprights with an amazing side-line conversion, to chants of 'Jerry, Jerry'.

Great scenes as he celebrates with some of his team-mates.

Congrats to him on an awesome career. He was the best winger in the world several years ago, and he seems a really admirable, likeable fellow.

36-0 to Wakefield at FT.

Congrats to them on winning their GF. Great to see them gaining promotion back to the top flight. They have been by far the best team in the second tier in 2024.

I thought the Wakefield pivots of Lino, Gale and Pitts were good at opening the ball up off the back of field position and their forwards setting a platform.

I like the selection of Pitts as MOTM, as I thought his link-play was an important element in their tries.

Part of me would have gone with Jerry McGillvary though. Two tries and an iconic side-line conversion to sign off with.

That 1st 40 mins was probably the best 40 Wakey have put together all season.

Ā  Ā Only the very good Leigh team could put in a Championship performance clinical as Wakefield did tonight.

First and foremost. Thanks to the Sportsman for promoting that game. Potentially across the globe, it was superb.

Well done Wakefield, I can't remember the last game TO didn't score. So well done for a fantastic treble and, maybe, a new life in the SL.Ā

I know youā€™ve congratulated Max but Iv seen a few comments seemingly trying to undermine Maxā€™s record breaking season, Leeds played 38 league games the year Lewis broke the record plus however many Yorkshire & Challenge cup games so Iā€™m guessing thatā€™s more than Wakey have played this year, letā€™s just accept records are there to be brokenšŸ‘

Yeah I was going to mention there would likely have been a lot more games when that record was broken originally.

Wakefield 2024 Vs Leigh 2022

Leigh were a great team but they also relied on some fantastic individuals to score points from nothing

Wakefield look more of a tight knit well drilled team with points from everywhere.

I think itā€™s a tough one to call but Iā€™d go with Trinity because of their defensive game

No point getting into a debate of who was better, both ultimately won all three trophies. But I think your assessment of Leigh is somewhat wide of the mark. You donā€™t rely on individual moments of brilliance to score points and finish the season with a points difference of over 1000

Ā  Ā They will be playing against each other next season. But like all promoted teams Wakefield will have one hand tied behind their backs. But in the third season who knows ? there may not be much between them again.

Thanks for all the fans who turned out tonight. It was a memorable night not just for us winning the treble but for Max's record. What a great professional team who got the job done and like many paid tributes to the departing players who again put their body on the line and got the job done.Ā

Well done Trinity 2027 world champions watch your back Penrith Panthers lol haha
