The Sportsman has been the best thing to happen for RL in ages. Brilliant coverage. Brilliant commentaries with no baloney. 25,000 views tonight alone. Tremendous credit to all including Fred Done. Long may it continue and flourish 🙏👏

Phew, just got home, really enjoyed that and the atmosphere  in the ground tonight was terrific. Matt Ellis has done a great job with the club and I am sure there is more to come. The championship has been great and next season our crown will be handed over to someone else. My tip is York

I know you’ve congratulated Max but Iv seen a few comments seemingly trying to undermine Max’s record breaking season, Leeds played 38 league games the year Lewis broke the record plus however many Yorkshire & Challenge cup games so I’m guessing that’s more than Wakey have played this year, let’s just accept records are there to be broken👍

F.*** the Whinos your just a team of wannabes. Watch your back whinos were coming to get you in 2025 and take over Headingley just you see 💪 bring it on ? Up the trin bring it 💪

I understand the Trin are on the lash tonight but I’m not from Leeds and don’t even support a SL club to be honest, I’m not even from Yarkshire but just a RL supporter in general but recognised the awesome feat by your No 1, if you read my post again it may make sense that I’m backing Trin rather than Leeds if you want to look at it that way 👍

Probably our most complete performance of the season and the atmosphere was electric. If we can get most of those fans back next year every week we’ll be flying. A great season for us and a year of re-setting and renewing of the club under a new owner in the championship was exactly what was needed. Trinity are a club on the up.

8,016 fans were in attendance to watch this stellar performance from Wakefield! Great attendance!

Not bad for a game some on here decided didn't mean much to make a point.

Glad that fallacy was obliterated with one of the largest Championship GF attendances in years.

17k on YouTube for much of the match too from what I saw.

The highest I saw the YouTube get to was 21,000, which I didn't think was bad for a "minor channel" as some people called it.

I said it was a minor channel, because it is. That's not an insult, just accurate. And the figures, in reality aren't that good. If they were in addition to a TV broadcast, then yeah, a decent back up. But that was the only outlet.

Just because it got an ok attendance doesn't mean that arguing the meaning was changed is a fallacy. We still don't actually know if Wakey are promoted do we? And that feeling of "Yes, we've done it" when the final whistle blows will definitely have been different. That doesn't mean people didn't really enjoy it but they don't know what the outcome is for sure. I'd even suggest that many of the casual fans just assumed victory meant promotion.....

But the argument is on the main IMG thread and this is for the actual match.

I went to Trinity - York last week, and have just watched the highlights of last night on YouTube.

In my recollection, York did a better job of putting defenders in the places that Trinity's attackers wanted to be.

What were Toulouse doing differently that caused their line of defence to fail to cover the full width?

How on earth can anyone claim youtube is a minor channel. It's the most watched video platform out there.

"YouTube is the most popular video-sharing platform in the world, with 2.6 billion users worldwide. So if you’re looking for a simple platform to share your videos and livestreams to the widest audience, YouTube might work for you"

For how good Wakefield were and they were, Toulouse were utterly disappointing disoroganised in defence and on attack looked like they had just met on the carpark prior to kick off, no cohesion or ideas at all by the spine guiding their teammates around the field.

A wonderful occasion for the Wakey fans and well done in winning the Championship.

I’m pretty certain he meant The Sportsman “channel” was the minor channel not YouTube the platform.

Pretty sure nobody said YT is a minor channel, just the channel within broadcasting the game.

I can put a video on YT today, it doesn't mean anyone's going to watch it. That's the difference.

Toulouse were very poor last night and Wakefield had too much class And just ground them down, Wakefield looked much more physical to me and Toulouse too light weight. Reminded me of watching a plucky championship team playing a SL team in the Challenge Cup.

If Toulouse are serious about getting into SL they are going to have to invest in their playing squad as that team is nowhere near good enough, I’d argue that without PT teams travelling to France and playing in the heat they would struggle to finish top 6.

Why do they have to invest in their playing squad if they are serious about getting in to SL?

Do you not think the extra points for winning the LLS, the cup and the GF would have helped Toulouse with their grading this year considering they were already in 10th spot above Wakefield, Leigh and Castleford?

Unless they are “parachuted” into SL as their coach suggests I believe their chance has already gone.

My opinion, you don’t have to agree with it.

Indeed.

PLEASE keep this thread about the match, and don't send it down another IMG black hole.

Thanks.
