Terribly low, but at least they still publish their figures. Gledhill wrote on twitter that Oldham broke their attendance record, without actually saying how many were there... Looks great from that angle albeit I don’t expect there are many other areas open out of shot other than the left hand side of the new stand
Damien Posted April 26 Author Posted April 26 Not attendances but great TV ANZAC day viewing figures: 4
langpark Posted April 26 Posted April 26 386 at Bedford vs Eastern Rhinos today and they were charging £7 admission. https://www.facebook.com/photo?fbid=1235462935254548&set=a.743738261093687 I wonder if they can maintain this all season, because apparently they are trying to get the League One spot that Cornwall vacated. 12

That's pretty impressive at £7 a pop. 3

I was at the game (worse luck) i know a few people who stayed away. Not just because Saints are garbage but also because meeting Wire for the tenth time in eight days was a bit of an overkill. It got a bit heated between some Saints fans who were in the Wello in Vs Wello Out camp. It was a nice evening to watch RL, and not as crowded as usual. 1

sheddingswasus Posted April 27 Posted April 27 What were the gates at Salford and Huddersfield please?

About 300 from Bradford Fantastic gate I always cast my mind back to Oldham’s NFP play off runs in the early 2000s and the support they had at those games. Would be great to hit those levels again

Each section of the Rochdale Rd end holds around 300 fans. If you look at the video they are only in two sections and one is around 2/3 full with a smattering in the end section. For all the gusto the following was less than Oldham take to away games.

I wasn't there so can't argue about it. I'm just saying what I saw on SM and it was from an official account, not just some random fan. And on top that it was allegedly a modern record for Oldham at the venue. So I suspect there were more there than you're stating.
Josef K Posted April 28 Posted April 28 The Wire/Saints match attendance was down around 1,700 on the previous season. Thursday’s don’t help, along with Saints not being very entertaining to watch. Then the fixture planning didn’t work out very well either with both sides meeting each other (H) (A) in the first 9 rounds.

It is way more than 300 per section. I zoomed in on the section where the Bradford fans were and it 28 seats across and 28 rows. 28x28 = 784. https://hellorayo.co.uk/hits-radio/manchester/news/oldham-athletic-to-rename-north-stand-in-honour-of-greatest-ever-manager/ I don't know how many Bradford fans were there, but it looked a lot closer to 1000 than it did to 300. You can see them in the far right of this photo. 1
Eddie Posted April 29 Posted April 29 Don’t think we’ve had these, unless I missed them amongst the extensive debate about how many fans Bradford took to Oldham. Barrow v Donny 1,612 Fax v London 1,783 NWC v Haven 535 Workington v Swinton 813 2
Sports Prophet Posted April 29 Posted April 29 NRL ANZAC Round 40,233 Bronx v Bulldogs 41,021 Roosters v Drags 17,095 Warriors v Knights (Christchurch) 26,010 Storm v Bunnies 20,349 Cows v #### 14,534 Panthers v SEagles 15,686 Raiders v Phins 14,812 Tigers v Sharks (Leichhardt) The round started fantastically on ANZAC Eve (no-one calls it that by the way) with another 40k+ at Suncorp for the Bronx to smash the undefeated Dogs who left with tails between their legs. ANZAC Day saw impressive crowds in Sydney over 40k, Christchurch at > 90% capacity but not getting a third ticket from me due to the sub NRL 2024 avg of 20k and Storm maybe deserving a third ticket for 26k on the same day over 92k stuffed into the MCG, but ultimately two ticks for being sub 90%. Cowboys only just hitting the 2024 NRL season average on the Saturday of a long weekend was a little underwhelming in my eyes. No tick may be harsh, but as explained before, a is just a pass and I think that crowd is nothing more than a pass. Then the Panthers continued their failures to draw fans to the amazing Commbank, sub 15k is a fail for me. Raiders getting sub 16k when they are doing as well as they are was another shame. Then Leichhardt, which would have had a tick from me when I saw the aerial images. A sub 15k and sub 75% capacity crowd is a fail and on another note, I don’t know where you fit the extra 5k the stadium is supposed to hold at max. The usual suspects significantly propping up the round average. Just wait till 2027 when those 200k+ dormant North Sydney Bears fans are re-engaged with their shiny new west coast outfit. That will significantly boost the Sydney crowd figures no doubt…

There are 6 fairly equal sections so that is around 400 per section. The Joe Royle stand holds around 2700. The centre sections were fairly full with the 2 wings less full.

Well this has escalated well beyond what I expected. But, no turning back now, I have come too far As far as I can see, the website does not actually mention that stand's capacity. It mention's every other stand except Jimmy Frizzell. The stadium has a present capacity of 13,512. The Joe Royle Stand opened in 2014 and has a capacity of 2,549. The Main Stand dates back to 1913 and is one of the oldest active stands in English football. It has a combined capacity of 2,517 (Upper 1,684; Lower 833). The Rochdale Road End hosts the club's most vocal support. It is divided into the Jimmy Frizzell Stand and the Oldham Athletic Community Trust Family Stand. The Chadderton Road End is now the designated away end with a capacity of 3,532. So by the process of elimination: 13,512 Minus: 2,549, 2,517, 3,532 = 4,914 4,914 is the capacity of that stand. Come on, even with the naked eye you can see it's much bigger than the Joe Royle stand.

West Tigers game was packed so thats a tick from me but the stadium looks like some trial or NRL country game and should not be used in a elite comp. Edited April 29 by EggFace
