It seems the talented french player is off to rugby union with trial at Treviso.

Surprised by move given heard huddersfield and toronto where interested. Certainly could change a game and same for france who don't seem to produce many players of his ability.

Will be back in less than 6 months.  He is not a RU player.

He doesn’t need to be to play RU.

All for chasing the money instead of showing some loyalty.

Would you move jobs if they doubled your salary? I would.

Just like Yaha, he will play the winter in Treviso and resign just in time for pre season in SL.

Gigot could suit Union well.

Good kicking game, an OK tackler for his size and very good hands. Reasonable under the high ball. Pace is average. Is creative and that's the key skill that means imo he may go well in Union. He can create tries.

A inside centre or a full back I would think for Gigot in Union.

Yaha with all due respect is a finisher and a good one at that but limited compared to Gigots all round game.

Its a shame though as thought he was off to the NRL.

There have been rumours that St. George-Illawarra had been interested in Tony Gigot. I suspect that they did not offer him enough money to join the NRL club.

Still a shame but i believe catalans wanted to make him marquee so could not have done much more.

He's no marquee player.

A shame for french league , Catalan Dragons and himself !

I hope be back for february, after poaching some money in Treviso (his dream was Sydney, it will be Treviso ....?).

Seedy !

I doubt Treviso are paying him much, Italian rugby isn't exactly awash with cash especially when compared to Top14 or Premiership.

I have read that he has been linked with Toulon. I thought he was going to the NRL but playing in the top 14 means he can double his salary without leaving France. I think that he would be a full back with his kicking game but I suspect that he will be back in Super League by the end of next season or 2021.

Just depends.  Quite an easy statement to make but this instance has to be balanced up with the loyalty Catalans showed him by sticking by him during his drug test shenanigans.  Gigot could’ve still been banned from playing any rugby, if  Guasch hadn’t backed him with legal assistance.

It won’t be for Catalans.  Guasch has made that clear enough.
