If this is truly the view of the Huddersfield leadership then it's just tragic.

If you can't promote international sport then the problem lies closer to home. Symptomatic of the backwards thinking mentality prevalent in RL currently.

Going well already I see. IMG have their work cut out for them.

I agree with SMcM - though how this was leaked is poor alround. Huddersfield entitled to their opinion - no matter how poor it is

Well said Steve Mc, absolutely spot on. We need this conversation right now, the game is controlled by a handful of individual club owners with vested self interest, it needs to change immediately. IMG offer hope, but I'm still unclear what power they actually have.

Same  kind of thinking that finished Toronto. Is it any wonder the sport is struggling.

This is really poor to put this out there.

There is absolutely a discussion to be had about how best to monetise French involvement in SL.

None of that should lead to any conclusion of there being no French involvement, but a French team's coach highlighting this publicly is poor.

That doesn't matter any more, though. We now live in a "leak" culture. Anyone can claim that someone said or did this or that and someone out there will leap on it and treat it as fact. Denials generate the "well,  they would say that " response  and "if they're denying it, it must be true.."

Bernard Manning lives! Welcome to be New RFL, the sport's answer to the Wheeltappers and Shunters Social Club.

All options are on the table. That means all options.

Agree with you about the dirty laundry aspect, though.

All the clubs which voted against Toronto, to greater or lesser degree betray some of this mindset.

Huddersfield are a great club, their improvements over the past 30 or 35 years are not matched by any other British team - at great expense to one man admittedly.

But they should know better than calling out other clubs for what they bring to the sport, or for that matter trying to **** on clubs in lower leagues who are in a rut themselves.

McNamara stated " the game " , but as you say , is that what was said ?

Or was it " financially to SL " , which as we've seen with Derek Beaumont's comments is essentially factual

If that's what's been said , then in discussions with IMG it is pointing out something that needs to be worked on

Context as ever is paramount

It wasn't ' thinking ' it was a global pandemic

Mr Mac should be dragged over the coals by the RFL and IMG for leaking what was said in a "closed doors" meeting, I am sure going forward with meetings involving the Clubs, RFL and IMG there are going to be many instances which will not suit or even be of a radical nature to some of the participants, but it should remain in the meeting room, I think Mr Mac has shown a vast amount of immaturity and a complete lack of common sense with this disclosure.

Yeah but remember, these foreign teams don't bring the 300/400 away fans that Huddersfield do.

Which is true , what financial contribution do they bring ?

He should concentrate on coaching RL players

A delusional level of self importance from Ken there.

Nah in some parts of England more like full stop. But not the majority any more.

But did you really expect anything different given who the owner endorsed and stood for in December 2019?

I am sure IMG ignored this, as most should.

France - our heartland cousins - are an easy win for RL and IMG if run better.

I agree with this wholeheartedly.

Now this news has been 'leaked', those who agree with McNamara will say the leak was justified and and Giant's position outrageous.

Those who disagree will focus on the leak itself.

This way, everyone has their talking points, people can slag each other off in public and the end result is the sport of Rugby League looking petty and amateurish.

We have to up our level of professionalism a few thousandfold.
