A Disgraceful Exhibition!

That time Huddersfield let 54 points in at Headingley vs Leeds was amongst the worst performances i've ever seen in Super League.

Possibly a different game to the one Schoey is talking about here though.

Worst performance in Super League history is quite the stretch. The Salford team that had eighty odd put on them by Bradford, the Wigan team that lost by 70 to Leeds, most London performances in 2014, most Halifax performances in 2022 and probably many other heavy scorelines are probably up there.

Indeed.

And when Wire lost 14 v 12 to Wigan the week before that was described by some as the worst performance ever too.

People seem to have really short memories.

All I'll say yer Mr Schofield must have missed scores of past Salford games if that is his bench mark for toothlessness.

The narrative implied for GS seems to be Ian Watson.

Now as a Salfordite, I'd remind you it was his parting that dismayed us.

I'd say the majority still regard IW as a fine coach. Hugely intelligent and motivated.

Thus given the squad it's a mystery.

But alongside that what is it with Harvey Livett?

I don't think Schofield should be criticizing Ian Watson as a coach as at least Watson has taken to 2 teams to challenge cup finals and 1 club to a Grand Final. How many teams did Schofield coach to challenge cup finals or a Grand Final?

So the only people who have a right to criticise Watson are those who have coached more teams to Grand Finals and Challenge Cup Finals?

Presumably you also believe that the only people who can criticise Boris Johnson are politicians who have won more than one general election.

I remember a game at the stoop (or was it Brentford) where London put 80 on wire, and a wire fan famously burned his shirrt, and the wire players at the end of the game was afraid to go over to the fans at the end, the wire fans was that annoyed.

Ofc Wire have put 80+ on London multiple times since then, but I do remember that game on just how bad that wire team was on that day

It wasn't quite that bad - although it felt it at the time.  The score at the Stoop in 2009 was 60 -8.  Two years and two Challenge Cups later we won at the Stoop 82 - 6 with Dan Sarginson getting Broncos' try.  As far as I remember that was the only time we put 80 on the Broncos, who could still put 60 on us the week before the 2012 Challenge Cup Final.

Has this been the first such scoreline I could imagine some surprise and shock maybe. But it's so common as to be unremarkable. That's not to say it's ok or acceptable, just that it happens.

Especially when, as people have pointed out, pretty much the same result happened 20+ years ago to the writer of the article.

I don't think you should be criticizing Gary Schofield as a coach as at least Schofield has taken to a team to 2 Super League victories. How many teams did you coach to a Super League victory?

Bit chippy there Martyn, I think a former coach who had a terrible career as a coach criticising a coach who has had a decent career to date is a bit different to fans criticising a coach, both are allowed their opinions as are we about Schofields comments.

I agree politicians who have never won a GE or led during a pandemic should not be able to criticise BoJo

As per my post, Leeds' squad and Huddersfield's squad were far different back then, Leeds were far stronger in every department.
