Hi Rob I thought there was much more than the previous week v Cas (8,035), there looked to be many more than the 68 difference posted, there were many more Salford Fans than Cas Fans for a start and both sides East and West stands looked to have more in from my vantage point at the top of the North stand, I was estimating late 8,000's comparing it to the previous week.

Can't comment on in the ground as I had to miss both games as ST holder. I was flying to US for work during the Cas game and arrived back about 3 hours before Salford extremely jetlagged so opted to watch on TV rather than risk driving. What I will say for Cas is it looked a lot fuller than last season which was our lowest attendance with just under 5.5k which I think is a massive positive.

Go on then Matt, expand?

Must be a lot of folk on holiday is all I can summise.

Best comparison is the Wigan game and work back from there. Plenty of room around us in the East (to the extent that two of the bars have been shut for the last two games) and some quiet spots in the North judging by being able to see the barriers from the East.

Either way, it looked and sounded great on telly and the attendances at Leigh will surely be the highest average for many decades.

I think you'd have to be going back to the very earliest days of RL if at all to be honest. Even early 80s when we won the league it was 5/6k unless it was a cup game or Wigan were in town.

NRL crowds have definitely hit a mid season lull.

Dolphins v Sea Eagles 14,059 @ Suncorp - showing signs of fatigue and novelty wearing off 👎👎

Panthers v Bulldogs 21,525 @ Panthers another great crowd for Penrith 👍👍

Eels v Broncos 17,393 @ CommBank is pretty underwhelming for a supposed powerhouse club who are definitely underperforming 👎

Tigers v Knights 10,107 @ Scully Park is a sell out for a game taken to the country 👍

Dragons v Bunnies 7,517 @ Jubilee is a deplorable derby day crowd 👎👎👎

Storm v Sharks 18,670 @ AAMI is a fail for a Saturday night top of the table clash 👎

Roosters v Warriors 17,517 @ Allianz is a below average crowd as well 👎

Titans v Cowboys 12,125 @ Cbus is another perfect crowd for all those GC fans who like to have space around them 👎👎

Two well attended matches out of eight I would say there.

Bad weather was a factor in some of those poor crowds

Yeah, some crowds below 4k that season, the biggest was actually against Castleford in the cup 3rd round. Suspect the late forties, early fifties post war boom might have been higher.

What's going on with Warrington's crowds? Are some fans burned by too many years of hope not being matched by delivery?

Thursday night at Suncorp is a disaster for Dolphins. 10.15 train from Milton Station. One hour train ride to Kippa-Ring too late to get buses to get to Redcliffe from there. All this with work/school the day after. And its on free to air TV.

Weather was great for Titans game..about time folks stopped referring to this as a derby though. Only two teams are further from CBUS than Cowboys.

Sounds like Dolphins should’ve played that one a bit more local then?

Was wondering that myself. Always seemed to be hitting 10k more often than not a few seasons ago. Would have thought they'd be climbing back up with their good form and pretty attractive brand of rugby currently.

Thursday night crowds are usually below the norm. Plus, wire haven't had a big away following visit yet(even leigh wasn't great)

It’s a Queensland derby irrespective of the distance.

Past 2 rounds have been affected by atrocious weather and it was Mother’s Day on Sunday.

Better scheduling is needed for the dolphins with Thursday night games and games against teams that draw poorly in Brisbane to be played at dolphin stadium.

8.5k at Wire is terrible for them, even on a Thursday night, the buzz around the club a few years back seems a long time ago now.

Maybe time to post another wacky video of wolfie on twitter?

What do you mean, it’s only 890 miles each way in the car.

As lame as that was to middle aged men like myself, it seemed to work.

Aren't SL clubs told not to rely on visiting fans, but build their own support ?
