When do Batley and Whitehaven's scores come out?

According to Kevin Nicholas "it is now sorted and although it is not the score we wanted it is what it is."

No idea what the score is though.

This can’t have been a sudden event, it’s been on the horizon for weeks clearly and yet they are still singing players it’s getting beyond a joke, there will still be “Co owners” paying off the credit agreements from last time they had the begging bowl out.

Makes you wonder why Rowley went upstairs….

Or did you just make it up?

Too true, but that is history now. It's the present that matters . Got our own ground which is being redeveloped at a pace and a great owner. Other than Leeds we are in a far better position than any club in West Yorkshie

Maybe it's time to just promote Toulouse and let Salford go ? Then encourage a new Manchester franchise in a better location. As things stand, Salford are down to just 4.6k average attendances despite a strong season. Surely there is potential for far more than that in the Manchester area and consequently a more viable set-up ?

If Manchester was viable, Salford would have made it work by now. I think sometimes we just need to accept reality. Without a financial backer, Salford's sums just don't add up. That means they can't afford the squad they had last year, and so - however laudable - their results were not "earned" in the same sense.

Let's look at it through this lens: Castleford average about 3,000 more paying fans per week than Salford. Over 13 home matches that gives them a £1m per season revenue advantage on ticket sales alone, not adding in the additional spend on merchandise, hospitality, the resulting value of commercial partnerships etc etc etc. That's just Cas, as one example. The numbers just don't add up for Salford.

Pretty sure Salford will be fine, they are only a point off Grade A, so they must be in a fine state.

Losses and loans are a common factor across the League aren't they?

As ever, Salford being close to a Grade A but also a mess shows two key things.

First, the grades need tightening.

Second, yes, they are actually one of our bigger clubs. It shows how small the sport remains.

They are off field one of the smaller clubs but signing a squad beyond their means.

You can look at it as Salford being one of closest to being the ‘at risk’ clubs.

Its not right to just spin everything towards a negative for IMG.

If Salford carry on like this then they will be at risk.

I’ve always said that one bad season on the pitch for Salford and the bubble will go pop big time. 2025 could be the year. House made of straw unfortunately.

It seems a case of running out of money in the off season because they were behind financially due to getting an advancement last season.

However instead of ensuring it didn't happen again they repeated the same error. They need to get a cash injection from elsewhere or spend less next year.

What's sad is Toulouse could have been promoted and Salford drop down for a year similar to wakey you would expect them to come back stronger next year.

They will get an advance but unless they change things they will be here next year too.

The worst won't happen but if it did it mirrors the crusaders winning a licence only to fold financially.

London and Toulouse are both the future growth of the sport who are financially dtable and we leave them in the championship whilst clubs are propped up struggling in the top division.

Someone mentioned another manchester club, well there was one playing out of the ethiad campus that folded when they were turned down for a league 1 place. Central Manchester not salford, good stadium and facility's,  great transport links and good ideas to grow the game...

Manchester Rangers. 6,000 capacity stadium in ex Broughton/Belle Vue territory. Had great potential. Sad what happened but there has to be potential for a central Manchester team at some point. The A.J. Bell is a poor location and will always struggle for crowds.

I'm sure I remember reading that part of the refusal was to appease the other Manchester adjacent clubs which if true is especially crazy considering how poorly run the majority of those clubs have been.

The best thing that ever happened to Manchester Rangers' reputation for being saviours of the sport was not being let in. They've been the perfect club ever since.

I reckon if Salford came down, rather than do what Wakefield have done, I think they would stand a good chance of going bust. They are clearly unsustainable and with the huge funding cut and clearly no money man they would be in deep trouble.

Hi Jack , will be as brief as possible

1. In 2024 a new system was implemented to grade clubs on certain criteria , awarding points for each of those criteria

2. Any team scoring 15 points or more under this new system was awarded a Category A status

3. Cas scored 15.02 points , therefore Cas were awarded a Category A status

Hope this helps
