He clearly wants out, might be that two players that he's linked up with so well in Asiata and O'Donnell both leaving makes him wonder if next year at Leigh could be damaging to his chances of getting an NRL move. When he signed his contract this time last year, we all thought he'd be heading to NRL for 2025, seems to not be happening.

Either way, I'd be amazed if he was given a 2 year contract with a release clause after 1 year that applied to SL clubs. He's just trying to force a move. When that happens, they're as good as gone.

NRL release only according to his dad, who would be rather pd if a fast one is attempted

It doesn’t really matter who is right or wrong about the clause now. Once a player and agent start to force the issue like this, it rarely ends with club and player living happily ever after.

I’ll be very surprised if Lam is a Leigh player next year

Normally i'd agree... It's a rather bizarre situation with his Dad being the coach. I would say its an agent trying to get a better contract offer for him, especially after seeing Asiata's contract at Hull FC.

Let's be honest Lam has been good for Leigh since signing but he isn't a world beater and doesn't have a complete game and lacks in certain areas, his kicking game has to be one of the worst in the league. I don't want to see him go and I fear the implications it may cause internally but he is not irreplaceable.

I do think we may see an extension to his contract at Leigh with favorable terms for him, if not, we move onto the next. Clubs cannot give into players/agent demands every time they're sought after.

Nobody is bigger than the club, if he wants out, let him go, it only causes unrest otherwise.

Agreed Lams agent has seen the players leaving and the spare salary cap it will create. He’s just after a piece of it before it’s spent on players coming in.

Agree with this.  Unfortunately it’s the way of agents.

Gossip of Trueman making way for him.  I can only see some of Hulls promising youngsters ending up on the Loan treadmill, going out to places they don’t want to be and ending up disillusioned.

If the player was open to a contract extension, with no clauses effective till the end of 2026, I’m sure he’d get a bumper deal at Leigh, given his fed trained, marquee status.  Just needed to ask

Isn’t Truman on a big contract as well though? Might be a challenge to find someone to take that on, unless hull subsidise it

Not a lot of imagination in Hull FC’s recruitment, which is disappointing.

Can’t say I’m impressed overall, they might be challenging for play offs next year but I wouldn’t expect them to do better than that.

Lam is no upgrade on Trueman although arguably would be better suited half to complement Abdull. It could be argued that Abdull and Trueman are too similar.

Throwing big money around rarely ends well. It’s not conducive for a harmonious dressing room or building a strong team culture.

I think DoubleD has summed it up, although I suspect Myler is following Smiths original, positional shopping list + whatever comes his way.

Without trying to sound bitter about the situation, are Hull FC preparing to be a mid table club fighting for top 6? Because that's what we've been at Leigh or are they expecting to get more out of these players?

That's a serious question BTW, I'm really struggling to see what the plan is.

To be fair, that would represent a decent improvement given how this year has gone

That has to be balanced with the number of serious injuries though and not having the money to replace Clifford.

There could be a forward thinking club somewhere that is making massive s strides and showing great ambition that many people are not aware of yet. So it's quite possible this may happen.

Micky Mac to HKR next season. At his age I thought Hull FC would have been a better fit

They might buy him after he has had a season or two at KR!
