What exactly happens after these matches?

The winner of Rochdale v Hunslet play against Keighley (the winner of that game going directly to the final).

The loser of Rochdale v Hunslet play the winner of Midlands v Workington (the winner playing the loser of the Keighley game for a place in the final).

The winner of the final then play the 12th placed Championship team for a place in next season's Championship.

Has the venue been confirmed for the Championship playoff final ie Championship or League 1 finalist home ground?

Home ground of the championship club. The promotion game for superleague is dubbed the million pound game, I think the championship promtion final will be  the fifty quid game!! 😆

It's up there with the Wetherby Whaler trophy in terms of prestige and prize money

50 quid game comment is disrespectful. As tongue in cheek as it may be I can assure you it's many tens of thousands more important than that. Only reason I rose to that was because of the clear benefit of winning the playoffs meant to us last year on and off the field.

Today’s wet forecast for Rochdale could influence the score and the gate receipts.
Hornets will ‘enjoy’ playing Keighley sometime in the play-offs and hopefully the 12th Championship club (away).

I do hope not!
