There are lots of people who i would like to see present the Challenge Cup and I'm sure other posters will have there's, so i would like Sir Alex Ferguson a sporting icon as what he achieved as a football manager.

When I was mulling this question the first name that came into my head was Bernard Cribbins...well , second after Timmy Mallett

Why?

In recognition of his match winning try for Oldham in the 1899 Challenge Cup final at Fallowfield Stadium !

Other good choices to present the cup in my opinion and known the British public would be Ashes winning Captain, Michael Vaughan, Ian Botham, Tyson Fury, and like Alex Ferguson would be fully aware of Rugby League.

It’s ok, Mike Harding is on standby if the worst happens....

I’m not prejudiced, I hate everybody equally

Bernard Cribbins is regular Challenge Cup Final attendee and has been for years.

Didn't he once lead the community singing back in the day.

I wouldn't have a problem with that, neither would most people.

I’d agree. Given he is devoted fan, he’s a much better choice than some “bigger name” like Alex Ferguson who wouldn’t know who he is handing the trophy to (granted most royals don’t know either). For me it cheapens it just to get some name to do the honours.

Let a Rugby league man/woman hand it out. That should be the starting criteria imo.

That sort of inward thinking is why this sport is behind pub games like Darts in this day and age.

I would go with passed Lance Todd trophy winners presenting the cup

Wouldn't that be difficult if they are no longer with us?
