Well yes, I made the point to my mate last night that a decade ago that would be a 15-18k crowd. But Thursday night and with the general malaise in casual support and the sport more broadly I think its not bad going.

The atmosphere did seem particularly boisterous and even the North Stand looked ok. Shows that, even on a Thursday, we've got an attractive product for Sky. It's easy to forget that you used to be able to make out the letters in the paddock seats before the 'golden generation' era

I don’t know how many was on at FC but i don’t blame them for walking out early.
Id imagine it was the same with the Wire fans and the rain we have had over here id be surprised if they got 8,000 tonight.

Have you lucky sods in the NW actually had some rain? I wish we had, haven’t had a drop in the RL hotbed of East Anglia for weeks 😬

Paul Heaton & Jacqui Abbott have been on at Saints tonight and all it has done is lash it down. But those i spoke to said “it was still a great night, and made even better with Wire losing”.

I’m not one of those whom dislikes clubs or fans.

Out at a concert on the pier with Little Ginger last night.

No roof and a bit exposed.

It started to rain. The only complaints from anyone arrived when it stopped about five minutes later.

The grass is yellow.

Where are you mate? When it starts raining here I’ll be right out for a walk in it.

Hastings. No rain in the past few weeks, none in the forecast.

Cornwall are ridiculous.  Getting 1000 whilst getting pumped.  Imagine if they are in contention next season.

Unfortunately it doesn't always work like that , sometimes you have the number and that's it , win or lose

But a 1000+ is good to see

True but if their floor is 1000 despite losing week on week you can see there is a market for the game there.  Think they could get a few more if making a playoff run next season.

1000 at Cornwall. Tier three and pretty much being hammered most weeks.

Come on if here was somewhere that would benefit from some SL and RFL largesse surely it should be here.

They seem to be doing well enough without that lot bumbling their way in and cocking it up for them!

I would imagine there's quite a few exiles and genuine RL fans around the South West that are just glad to be able to watch live RL.

It's not always just about the results.

And to think many on this forum thought the Cornwall idea was ridiculous.

It has its issues as any club does that is a long distance from the majority of the other teams , just how they cope with the traveling every other week as part time players Christ knows , Swinton went down on Friday and return this afternoon , ok once or twice a season but hard every other week

No different to football though, some of their part time players cover huge distances too. Eg Banbury and Blyth are both in the conference North, and when Lowestoft where in it they had to travel to Workington etc.

So it is an issue

Yes it is, but not an insurmountable one. It’s only in heartlands rugby league where people tremble at the thought of having to travel more than 75 miles to play a game.

Obviously not insurmountable as Cornwall have to do it every other week
