The ref gave no try. Probably because he didn’t think it had been kicked. I’ve seen them given in games without VR. It used to be a regular question in the Refs Exam

Yep the ref gave no try because that's exactly what he would have given on a Sunday afternoon.

I can confirm 30+ less sales for Scotland vs Italy at Workington, after this afternoons test purchase for the Tonga match, £7.50 is extremely reasonable, however a £2.50 'delivery' fee for a walk in purchase is beyond taking the mickey, good luck with that, it's cheaper on the telly.

Ah, but if you listened to Thaler clearly you could hear him sucking on an Uncle Joe’s mintball. Wonder where he got a tin of those?

He will have been waiting for his pie to be cool enough to eat 😀

I think I said this in round 1, but if we ever get Field, Marshall and French all fully fit and starting the same match, the speed in attack will be dizzying!

It is true, and there have been hundreds of times where it has happened elsewhere on the field, not led to a try and been given as a knock on.

I understand the rule but think it is only applied in the way it was tonight when there is a video ref.

I don't recall ever seeing it given as a knock on ever

I'm still waiting for Liam Sutcliffe to become the player England are built around.

Aren't we all? I hope Jack Broadbent is injured, because if Agar continues to pick Sutcliffe in front of him he needs to give his head a shake.

I may be a simple man but Wigan in Cherry and White throwing the ball around makes me happy.

Let's take a moment to say a big "hello" to everyone who, during last season, called Jai Field a flop signing. :kolobok_biggrin:

No it doesn’t. A kick is only from the knee downwards though

Never heard that before. Always been that it hits the foot before hitting the floor it isn't a knock on.

Never heard deliberate rule?

Maybe I need the rules explaining to me then.  I have seen hundreds of times where the ball is dropped but then kicked b4 it hits the floor and they have always been given as a knock on 🤷‍♂️

Rewatching that field cover tackle, it's also brilliant work by Farell to get between Tindal and Austin to give him no simple pass.

He does that sort of thing a lot, but it doesn't get remarked upon very often... which is probably how he likes it.

I'll be honest I have never ever seen that and I've watched many many games. Always play on, only a knock on if it hits the floor or an opposing player

Or the posts.

Leeds got a good taste of what they will get from Austin in that first half. A lovely step and try, a couple of dangerous half breaks, a kick that landed 10m behind where he kicked it and a completely mystifying decision not to pick up a ball, costing a try.
