Is this a new super league record

According to Opta stats Tom Lineham for Trinity in the game against Salford only made zero tackles and one attempted tackle which he obviously missed.  Now unlees anyone knows of any player who has spent 80 minutes on the pitch not even making that surely this must be a record. Obviously the referee would not be included

And he was  still second in trinity’s tackle count

He would get player of the match in RU for those stats

Greg Eden hasn’t made a tackle in a decade.

I'd be interested in knowing if his lack of defensive involvement was picked up in any way by the crowd.

Didn't Salford score like 13 tries, many of them long range? What the hell was he doing?

Seriously guys, its years back since I played a game of either code, but for the life of me i just dont see how any player in any position can stay out on a RL pitch for the full game and not make one single tackle.

However if same player gets in the team next week that will be even more baffling

Not Super League, but according to the NRL player stats on Fox Sports, Tautau Moga has played two games on the wing this year for St George this year and he has made one tackle and missed three so slightly ahead of Lineham in the stats.

It’s probably a bit unfair on Lineham this. I suspect his ‘attempted’ tackle was the one on Burgess at the end of the game when Burgess was clearly in touch but the try was given.

That was Mason Lino who dragged Burgess into touch BEFORE Burgess put the ball down.

Having Warrington inside him does go some way towards explaining his girth.

I’ve spotted his ‘attempted’ tackle now. It was, actually, quite a good tackle, but he then got penalised for holding down. To be fair, he probably couldn’t get up again after all the effort.
