Ha ha good one!

Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't be putting money on it, but that game looks more interesting now than it did a few hours ago. France have some dangerous players.

That was unexpected. I think everyone thought it was going to be a tough game, given the squad Samoa could name and possibly due to some of those called up and the absentees for England. Ultimately, there will be many England fans who don’t care because England won (and who could blame them?) but that was very poor from Samoa, who really didn’t help themselves with some real poor unforced errors compounding coming up against a ruthless England side.

I'd say enjoy the win tonight but move on and don't get too carried away. Samoa were awful in possession of the ball whilst the game was still tight. They also lost a couple of players to match ending injuries. They pretty much threw in the towel after 65 minutes.

Taking nothing away from us though, we did the job well this afternoon

Big Call.

France to shock Samoa, No Fages is a massive loss but I think they’ll have a lot of confidence from this result and pull together a stellar performance and they’ll take it at the death (Mourge Field goal from 40 out)

Who cares about Garry Schofield?  Yeeessssss!

With the best, thats a good bit of PR, though I would say the Bedford team, theres, like, you know, 13 blokes who can get together at the weekend to have a game together, which doesnt point to expansion of the game. Point, yeah go on!

And another one.

What a terrible competition super league is.

I can’t wait for Phil Gould to wake up to this.

He'll be eating his words after this!

Matt Parrish doesn’t think they can win it. Who needs enemies eh?

Biggest question is will Samoa be able to recover from this?

Excellent question.  They'll beat Greece for sure, but could France beat them and get to the quarter-finals?

I picked England to win 7 to 12 so got that wrong. England were polished and Samoa incohesive. A pity it couldn't have been a sterner test but the likes of Australia or NZ will provide that. England will keep their feet on the ground.

I'm not sure France has the team to defeat Samoa so I think Samoa will still qualify.

Back to bed for a few winks.
