South stand at Warrington now £25, been £40 for the pool games. Still showing as £40 on the graphic but an option for £25 when the drop down is selected. That should help get Tonga v Samoa to capacity.

It hopefully will if they push it but sadly if people log on and see £40, they’ll likely just think again. How they make simple things so difficult is hard to understand.

Wouldn't those logging on select the £25 tickets and see what it offers them ?

Let's be honest, we don't want or need folk going near that ticketing website for this game or the games at Hull and Huddersfield. Should just be encouraging folk to turn up with their cash/card and in they come.

I can confirm 30+ less sales for Scotland vs Italy at Workington, after this afternoons test purchase for the Tonga match, £7.50 is extremely reasonable, however a £2.50 'delivery' fee for a walk in purchase is beyond taking the mickey, good luck with that, it's cheaper on the telly.

So where do I get my refund from ? 😡

That’s if they can be arsed to create an account and log on just to see what availability is like.

It's really annoying in this day and age that to buy anything , you need to have an account , they'll be asking for your postcode in the pub next ? 🙄

You get to stand on the halfway line. Everyone has to stand a metre or so away from you hence the cheaper price.

The seats are priced on the basis the further from him the more expensive they are.

Missed the middle game at Donny but tonight was a LOT busier than the France-Greece game

I know the games were juggled around a little bit, but this seemed an odd one for Doncaster. Might have made more sense to have had this one in Warrington given PNG were based there (to the extent that there was a Warrington dance group performing at half time) and obviously easier for the Welsh support

So 236,446 in total (apologies to RayCee for slightly different number ! ) … well done to all those who attended, and everyone else who supported the RLWC in some way!

Now for the Q/Fs, surely 60,000 is achievable? Or even a touch more to get us to 300,000 before the semis and final ?

Comparing this to the 2017 world cup. The group stage in that averaged 12,783 per match. Though of course that was helped by the groups being more competitive and all of Papua New Gunieas games hosted in PNG which sold out.

The advantages for 2017 over this version were very much evident.

- Aus v Eng opener

-NZ and Tonga both playing pool games in NZ

-PNG playing pool games at home

In fact, only the 2000 version is a real apples for apples comparison, and even then the biggest game (Australia v England) had been a pool match.

I know people will disagree with me, but I think an average of near enough 10000 for the pool games is an excellent result when you consider that there’s no ‘super group’ and all games are in the one host nation. (NZ games are the exception - the quality in that team deserves to play in front of better crowds)

Well done England, long may the growth continue.

Agree. Especially when we take the very tough economic conditions into account, I think crowds have been pretty good.

Looking foward to seeing what the knockout crowds will be.

I don't see how in 2017 Australia v England was an advantage when this year England v Samoa got almost double in the opener.

I do pretty much agree with the rest though but do think we could have done a fair bit better too.

I think you inadvertently sum up my point. Australia vs England has traditionally been one of the the big games in a World Cup. We haven’t played that yet. (We may not at any point) England V Samoa drawing 40,000 is a phenomenal effort which suggests two things:

1. There is a greater variety of games that can generate big excitement (we have traditionally relied on games involving the big 3 to get anything near that sort of attendance in the past)

2. We still have some of the biggest drawing games to come

And games were organised to maximise financial return ie. towns/cities buying games, high ticket prices etc.

Interestingly (OK not interestingly) the median crowd actually increased from round to round. People choosing to watch other teams than England after the big feeling opening game?

I think our numbers were the same and someone pointed out two slight errors. I corrected them and have been out of kilter since. It’s a tiny difference.

Each set of figures has its own unique angle so all help to paint a picture. It was good you set up the thread.
