Sheffield Eagles had a basketball team in the 1990s.

Leeds Rhinos/Leeds Tykes, obviously. Apart from that, just ground sharers with no substantial connection between the clubs.

Fev launched a football team this year. Unsurprisingly they're called Featherstone Rovers FC.

Melbourne Storm partnered with a university to establish a netball team, the Sunshine Coast Lightning (plays in national league). The Storm are now sole owners.

The Gold Coast Titans also have a netball team that plays in the QLD state league.

Did they win promotion?

Having little interest in anything football, my only knowledge is they exist. Fev did get promoted to Super League this year however. SL1 for the ladies team that is. 😉

There used to be a few government grants for multi sports clubs - which at a guess was the main reason for some of the past link ups, certainly at a lower level anyway. Whether those grants are still available or not could be an indicator as to why it happens less these days.

I can vision into the future in Australia there will be super clubs, competing with teams in the NRL, AFL, A League & Super Rugby Competitions.

Maybe one day a combined NRL & Super League competition but for that to happen flying time between Australia and England could be no more than 4 hours for it to become a reality.

Apparently this site says I "won the day" here on 23rd Jan, 19th Jan, 9th Jan also 13th December, whatever any of that means. Anyway, 4 times in a few weeks? The forum must be going to the dogs - you people need to seriously up your game. Where's Dutoni when you need him?

Sporting Club St Helens didn’t exactly turn out well for St Helens Town FC. Sold their ground after being sold a dream of moving in to Knowsley Road and climbing the pyramid. They’ve now dropped out of the senior non-league system.

And replaced by FC St Helens 😌

In before gingerjon.

Had a handball team?

They don't seem to be active any more.

Hemel Stags have 11 male and female darts teams; their 7-a-side 4G pitch is used by footballers more than 30 hours a week; while Hemel Stags RUFC are affiliated to the Hertfordshire RFU

What leagues do they play in? I've played up at Pennine Way plenty of times in cup tournaments etc. but not yet come across a team playing under the Stags name.

It's one thing being able to get from London to Sydney in 4 hours, but another thing entirely trying to get from that London to up north in a reasonable amount of time......

That's a shame if true.  At least it was their year in 2015 and 2017.
